Abstract: A baking oven for test-baking loaves of bread has a baking chamber heated by a heating element to a desired baking temperature, and a door through which to introduce the loaves. In response to closure of the door, water is passed through a pipe extending from the outside into the baking chamber and is allowed to fall on the heating element for immediate evaporation. The amount of water is metered so as to be sufficient to saturate the air in the baking chamber with water vapor at the baking temperature.

Abstract: A continuous product-processing apparatus having a conveyor capable of repositioning product and cleaning itself of debris and a method for its operation. The apparatus includes a conveyor that transports products atop a conveyor belt along a carryway to a processing chamber. Upper and lower diverting rollers guide the belt along an S-shaped product-repositioning path segment of the carryway. The diverting rollers are rotated at a speed normally greater than the speed of the conveyor belt to cause the belt to slip on the roller's periphery, which effects a scraping action against the conveying side of the belt to dislodge debris from the belt and the rollers. One-way ratcheting drives or belt restricters positioned on the product-positioning path segment to limit belt excursion are used to prevent the belt from building up along the carryway and tightening in the lower return.

Abstract: A heater cabinet which utilizes a source of steam heat to elevate to a predetermined working temperature various industrial containers and the contents thereof. Containers suitable for use with the heater cabinet include barrels, drums, pails, nondisposable and disposable liquibins, and the like. In a preferred embodiment the cabinet includes a plurality of insulated walls which define an enclosure. Access to the enclosure is provided by a pair of swinging doors hinged to the front wall of the cabinet. Mounted near the bottom of the enclosure is an open grate for supporting containers placed within the enclosure for heating. Beneath the grate and contiguous therewith is a steam coil for connection to a source of steam which imparts heat into the enclosure. Below the steam coil is a drip pan for collecting and containing any spillage or drippage which may inadvertently flow from the container. The drip pan is provided with a drain outlet which opens through the bottom wall outside the cabinet and serves to drain the contents of the pan and release any pressure that may form within the enclosure.
