    摘要： A formable cushion is produced by providing a mold having a first cavity and the second cavity in a fluid communication with one another, with the first cavity having a greater depth than the second cavity. A first volume of foam/gel is deposited into the first and second cavities in an amount providing a level surface of foam/gel. The level surface is covered with a formable sheet and the second volume of foam/gel is disposed onto the formable sheet. Thereafter, heat and pressure applied to the first and second volume of foam/gel within the mold in order to provide a cushion having a relatively firm back pliable layer, a relatively firm mouse pad and a conjoining relatively soft compressible cushion.

    摘要： A wrist rest assembly for use along the front edge of a device to be operated by a person's hands or fingers, such as in front of a computer keyboard, including an elongate base on which is supported an elongate pad comprising a layer of gel within the covering. The pad has sufficient thickness between its top and bottom surfaces and width between its edges to afford supporting a users wrists on said top surface with a portion of the layer of gel beneath and conforming to the supported wrists and to afford significant motion of the top surface of the pad with the supported wrists relative to the bottom surface in a plane generally parallel to the upper surface of the base. The base has a top portion supporting the pad, a bottom portion adapted to be supported on a horizontal surface; and structure that allows the top portion to be supported on the bottom portion with the top surface of the pad at a predetermined one of several different distances above that horizontal surface.

The support pad includes an enclosure defining a containment area having a flowable material therein and structure to assure retention of the enclosure at a selected location. The retention structure may be integral to the enclosure and/or may be associated with related assemblies. The flowable material preferably exhibits fluid-like characteristics, and, more preferably, is characterized by a non-constant shear rate to shear stress ratio. In some embodiments, it is preferred that the material will not flow under its own weight (i.e., no, or substantially reduced, cold flow characteristics).
