摘要： A hover vacuum cleaner has a casing, an underside to the casing, an impeller and drive motor for the impeller, a dust filter, an inlet for dust laden air, an exhaust port in the, a pathway for air to pass from the inlet, through the dust filter and impeller and around the motor, and through the exhaust port. The underside has dished air chambers, covering a substantial area of the underside. Preferably, the underside has at least two dished air chambers, each of which straddles the longitudinal axis of the underside. Adjacent dished air chambers are separated by a dam which is transverse to the longitudinal axis. The exhaust port is in direct fluid communication with one of the dished air chambers and the exhaust port also straddles the longitudinal axis. The underside has a peripheral groove which is in fluid communication with the exhaust port and/or the adjacent air chamber.

摘要： The present invention describes an air-floated apparatus for use as a lawn mower or vacuum cleaner. In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises a housing having an outer shroud and an inner shroud, the outer shroud surrounding a predetermined portion of the inner shroud to define a pressure chamber between the inner and outer shrouds and a vacuum chamber within the inner shroud. A drive mechanism includes a motor having a rotatable shaft. A single impeller is supported in the pressure chamber and rotates on the shaft for exhausting air from the vacuum chamber to erect grass underlying the opening while simultaneously pressurizing air in the pressure chamber to float the apparatus above the grass. Airborne cut grass clippings are vacuumed into and through the impeller for distribution into the soil for recycle and recut. According to the invention, an adjustment assembly is provided for adjusting a position of the housing relative to a center-line auxiliary wheel assembly. The air-floated wheeled apparatus may include an edger and a trimmer.

摘要： An air-floated apparatus, such as a lawn mower or vacuum cleaner, is comprised of an endless housing having a bottom opening defined by a relatively flat plate member projecting inwardly from a bottom part of the housing. At least one air impeller is provided for pressurizing air within the housing sufficient to float the housing above a support surface. The plate member directs air laterally into the housing to inhibit the escape of air from the housing and maintain a relatively constant pressure in the housing. In one embodiment the apparatus is comprised of a lawn mower having a rotatable cutting member mounted within the housing. The rotary action of the cutting member centrifuges grass cuttings within the housing. The plate member acts as a shelf to support the centrifuged grass cuttings and cooperates with an inner wall of the housing to direct the grass cuttings into a discharge duct for collection in a bag or other receptacle.

摘要： A vacuum cleaner canister assembly supported on a cushion of air. A generally concentric series of ridges and channels surround a domed pocket in the base of the canister assembly. Air discharged into the pocket escapes under the ridges and flows into the channels so as to be distributed about the base of the assembly. The pocket is located generally beneath the center of mass and on the centerline of the assembly. A collection chamber also accumulates collected particulate so as to be located generally proximate the center of mass. An inlet tube at the front of the assembly is angled downwardly towards the floor to reduce the load on the canister assembly from the weight of the hose.
