摘要: Disclosed herein in an intrasaccular aneurysm occlusion device with a convex (e.g. globular or heart-shaped) distal portion which is at least partially nested in a concave (e.g. bowl-shaped) proximal portion. In an example, the convex distal portion and the concave proximal portion can be made by radially-constraining, inverting, and/or everting a tubular mesh. In another example, a convex distal portion and a concave proximal portion can be made separately from different materials and/or different processes. The convex distal portion can be filled with embolic coils, “string-of-pearls” embolic strands, or congealing liquid.

摘要: The present invention provides an improved vascular occlusion device having improved flexibility and retention of the type fabricated from braided tubular metal fabric having an expanded preset configuration and an elongated collapsed reduced diameter configuration for delivery through a catheter to a treatment site and shaped to create an occlusion of an abnormal opening in a body organ or vessel, the woven metal fabric having a memory property whereby the medical device tends to return to said expanded preset configuration when unconstrained. The device further including at least one disk portion adjacent a body cylindrical portion formed from the fabric and having a transition diameter between the disk and cylindrical portion, significantly smaller than the diameter of the disk and the diameter of the cylindrical portion.

摘要: The present disclosure relates generally to the field of medical devices and establishing fluid communication between body lumens. In particular, the present disclosure relates to devices and methods for establishing a controlled flow or access passage between body lumens. For example, a device may include an elongate tubular body defining a lumen along a length thereof. The elongate tubular body may have an unexpanded configuration and an expanded configuration. In the expanded configuration, a proximal portion of the elongate tubular body may expand into a proximal retention member and a distal portion of the elongate tubular body may expand into a distal retention member, leaving a cylindrical saddle region extending therebetween. The cylindrical saddle region may include a constricted portion configured to move between a first diameter configuration and a second diameter configuration larger than the first diameter configuration.

The medical device includes a first portion having at least one plane of occlusion that is configured to be positioned outside of the left atrial appendage, and a second portion having at least one plane of occlusion that is configured to be at least partially positioned within a cavity defined by the left atrial appendage.

摘要: An apparatus for treating an aneurysm in a blood vessel includes an occlusion element including a first tubular mesh having a first end and a second end coupled together at a proximal end of the occlusion element such that an intermediate portion of the first tubular mesh between the first end and the second end includes a substantially 180 degree turn, the intermediate portion of the first tubular mesh extending distally from the proximal end of the occlusion element, wherein the intermediate portion of the first tubular mesh has a collapsed configuration and is configured to expand to an expanded. In some embodiments, the apparatus further includes a second tubular mesh having a first end and a second end coupled to the proximal end of the occlusion element such that an intermediate portion of the second tubular mesh between the first end and the second end includes a substantially 180 degree turn. In some embodiments, the apparatus further comprises a cover coupled to the proximal end of the occlusion element.

摘要: A method of preparing a ventricular partitioning device for implantation using a delivery system can include coupling the ventricular partitioning device to a delivery catheter, loading the ventricular partitioning device and a portion of the delivery catheter into a sleeve and creating a liquid-tight seal between a portion of the sleeve and the delivery catheter, coupling a distal end of the sleeve to a guide catheter, and delivering fluid through at least one of the first fluid delivery port or the second fluid delivery port. The method can be performed with the delivery catheter or the sleeve having a first fluid delivery port positioned thereon. The method can be with the guide catheter having a second fluid delivery port positioned thereon.

摘要: This invention can be embodied in a method and device for therapeutically-occluding a cerebral aneurysm. A method embodiment includes radially-constraining a tubular mesh to form proximal and distal convex portions of the mesh, collapsing the proximal portion into a concave (e.g. bowl) shape, and expanding the distal portion of the mesh within an aneurysm sac by filling it with embolic members and/or material. The expanded distal portion of the mesh holds the concave proximal portion securely against the aneurysm neck and conforms to the wall contours of even an irregularly-shaped aneurysm sac.

摘要: A system effectively narrows a patulous Eustachian tube (ET) of a patient with a guide catheter, instrument, and insert. The guide catheter includes a shaft, a lumen and a distal end configured to provide access the ET when the guide catheter is inserted into a head of the patient. The instrument comprises a shaft. The insert comprises a body configured to radially expand and retract between a non-expanded state and an expanded state. The insert is sized and shaped to be received within the first lumen when in the non-expanded state and is operable to expand to the expanded state to substantially reduce an effective diameter of the ET.
