Specifically, multi-layer, folded absorbent cores are presented that are formed from an absorbent laminate comprising an absorbent layer between two tissue layers, in which the absorbent core includes a central channel running longitudinally along the core and crenellations profiled along the thickness of the core and providing enhanced liquid distribution across the core surface area or profile and improved liquid absorption into the laminate.

摘要： An absorbent article for body fluids aimed at utilizing an entire absorbent member efficiently and having a thinner form, a larger absorption capacity and longer wearability as a whole is provided. The absorbent member 25 has a contraction material 27 which contracts itself on contacting urine passing through a liquid-permeable surface layer provided on the side facing to the body skin and an absorbent material for body fluids 26 which is practically united with the contraction material 27 is arranged on the upper side of a leak proof layer provided on the side farther from the body skin.

The rear fecal pad is preferably substantially square or rectangular and has elastic means along its lateral sides and top (waistband) edge to cause it to be gathered and to assume a bowl-like configuration.

摘要： An absorbent article such as a diaper comprises a topsheet, a backsheet and an absorbent core. The absorbent layer comprises at least a longitudinally-extending central portion, and a first and second side portions disposed transversally outward of the central portion. The absorbent core further comprises first and second folding guides between the central portion and the side portions. Each side portion comprises a plurality of winglets, each winglet having a proximal side relative to a folding guide and extending outward from this proximal side, and wherein neighboring winglets are separated by a gap between their neighboring sides. The central portion and the side portions form a three-dimensional basin when the absorbent core is folded along the folding guides. The article further may comprise at least one liquid management layer substantially free of superabsorbent polymer between the topsheet and the absorbent core. The absorbent core may be substantially free of cellulose fibers.

摘要： A disposable absorbent product, such as a urinary pad, comprises a liquid-impermeable, substantially flexible shell, an absorbent core and a liquid permeable facing adhered to the shell so as to enclose the absorbent core therein. The absorbent core comprises at least one layer of tenderized peat moss, each such layer being cut adjacent to each lengthwise edge in one or more slits so as to aid lateral compression folding of the sheet, and, adjacent to the layer of peat moss, a receiving layer of an absorbent cellulosic material. The absorbent core has an M-fold configuration and comprises a longitudinally extending channel for receiving discharged liquid.

摘要： A sanitary napkin is formed of a plurality of vertically stacked layers comprising an underply of fluid impervious material, an intermediate ply of absorbent material, an underply of fluid impervious material and a peripheral binding ply of fluid impervious material having an inner and outer peripheral edge and defining a central opening into the body. The plies are adhered together about their outer peripheral edge and include an elastomeric member along each of the longitudinal side edges of the body, which resiliently contracts the body in the longitudinal direction drawing the body into a cup shape providing a deep compartment for retaining fluid between the underply and the intermediate ply and at the same time, raising the inner peripheral edge of the binding ply to form a continuous encircling wall against the flow of fluid from the compartment.

The gaps between the winglets comprise at least one gap which has a substantially constant width and at least one gap which has a generally triangular shape. The central portion and the side portions form a three-dimensional basin when the absorbent core is folded along the folding guides. The article further may comprise at least one liquid management layer substantially free of superabsorbent polymer between the topsheet and the absorbent core. The absorbent core may be substantially free of cellulose fibers.
