Abstract:
The present application relates to an electronic wetness-sensing absorbent article and related methods. The electronic wetness-sensing absorbent article includes a flexible waterproof thin film; at least two mutually separated and insulated flexible electrodes disposed on one surface of the flexible waterproof thin film; a water-permeable braided fabric layer; and an absorbent layer disposed on the other surface of the flexible waterproof thin film, located between the flexible waterproof thin film and the water-permeable braided fabric layer, and adapted to absorb a liquid entering from the water-permeable braided fabric layer. The flexible waterproof thin film, the flexible electrodes, and the liquid contained in the absorbent layer form a non-polar variable electrolytic capacitor. The wetness state of the electronic wetness-sensing absorbent article is obtained by detecting the capacitance value of the variable electrolytic capacitor and change thereof.
Abstract:
The invention provides an absorbent article comprising an indication means for indicating the presence of bodily exudates, the indication means comprising a color-changing indication means, wherein the absorbent article and the indication means form one integral unit, the article further comprising a indication device, which comprises a housing and a connection means, such that the indication device can be attached to the absorbent article and be detached from the absorbent article, wherein the indication device comprises a color sensor.
Abstract:
An excrement sensing device and a diaper with an excrement sensing device are provided. The diaper includes a detachable sensing part, an electronic part and a diaper main body. The detachable sensing part includes a first light guide structure and a second light guide structure. The electronic part includes a signal processor. A light guide gap is formed between two light guide openings of the first light guide structure and the second light guide structure. After the optical signal from the emitter is transmitted through the first light guide structure, the light guide gap and the second light guide structure, the optical signal is received by the receiver. When excrement enters the light guide gap, the optical signal is subjected to a change. In response to the change of the optical signal, the signal processor generates a warning signal.

Abstract:
The present subject matter relates to absorbent articles and signaling devices for use therewith. The signaling device includes one or more non-invasive sensors configured to detect the presence of a substance, such as a body fluid, in the absorbent article. The signaling device can provide an audible and/or visible alert to the user of the absorbent article when it detects the presence of a substance. The absorbent article includes one or more identifiable characteristics the presence of which permits operation of the signaling device. In this manner, the present disclosure provides for product and signaling device matching for use.
Abstract:
An absorbent article for preventing leakage of a liquid insult includes an outer cover, a liner, and an absorbent assembly disposed therebetween, the liner having a body-facing surface; an active barrier disposed between the liner and the outer cover, wherein the active barrier is in fluid communication with the absorbent assembly, and wherein the active barrier is adapted to change dimensions when wetted; and a barrier highlight disposed to overlie the active barrier, wherein the barrier highlight is in fluid communication with the absorbent assembly or the active barrier, and wherein the barrier highlight is configured to change appearance when wetted.
Abstract:
An absorbent article for body fluids aimed at utilizing an entire absorbent member efficiently and having a thinner form, a larger absorption capacity and longer wearability as a whole is provided. The absorbent member 25 has a contraction material 27 which contracts itself on contacting urine passing through a liquid-permeable surface layer provided on the side facing to the body skin and an absorbent material for body fluids 26 which is practically united with the contraction material 27 is arranged on the upper side of a leak proof layer provided on the side farther from the body skin.
Abstract:
An absorbent core comprising substantially continuous zones of one or more high fluid distribution structures and discontinuous zones of fluid absorption structures surrounding the one or more high fluid distribution structures, wherein the one or more high fluid distribution structures are arranged to distribute fluid across the absorbent core at a speed that is faster than the speed of fluid distribution across the absorbent core by said discontinuous fluid absorption structures, and wherein said continuous zones extend along a path that is substantially parallel to at least a portion of the perimeter of the core, said portion of the perimeter of the core comprising at least a portion of the sides of the core and one of the ends of the core.
Abstract:
A dryness indicator includes a wicking strip continuous between a reservoir end and an opposed open end; a liquid-impermeable top layer disposed on one side of the wicking strip; and a liquid-impermeable bottom layer disposed on the opposite side of the wicking strip, wherein the top layer is affixed to the bottom layer to at least partially enclose the wicking strip, and wherein the indicator is configured such that the open end of the wicking strip can be placed in liquid communication with an object or surface. The dryness indicator also includes a reservoir including an oil-based colorant with the potential to be in liquid communication with the reservoir end of the wicking strip, wherein the wicking strip is configured such that colorant wicking from the reservoir end and an unreacted water-based fluid wicking from the open end meet to define a timing line.
