摘要： A method of detecting detachment of an ostomy device from a patient includes providing, in the ostomy device, a first electrode separated from the patient by an adhesive that attaches the ostomy device to the patient, where a first capacitor is formed between the first electrode and the patient. The method includes applying a signal to an electrical circuit that includes the first capacitor, and detecting changes in a capacitance value of the first capacitor based on frequency responses of the electrical circuit to the signal. The method additionally includes activating an alarm based upon detecting the changes in the capacitance value of the first capacitor.

摘要： Disclosed is an ostomy device with an adhesive wafer for attachment to a skin surface of a user and a collecting bag for collecting output from a stoma. The collecting bag is connected to the adhesive wafer, and the adhesive wafer has a through-going hole for accommodating the stoma of the user. The adhesive wafer includes a backing layer, a first switchable adhesive composition, a second adhesive composition, and a release liner. The first adhesive is contained in a recess in the device. The first switchable adhesive composition comprises a polymer and a switch initiator, and can be switched from a first liquid state to a second adhesive state by activation of the switch initiator.

摘要： A stoma guard for ostomy patients that is applied directly to the ostomy pouch. The guard prevents blunt force trauma, helps the user conceal protruded stoma and protects against daily impacts that can harm stoma region. The stoma guard has no sharp corners to prevent leakage and to increase maneuverability. The stoma guard is comprised of a rigid semi circular dome shaped guard and a crescent shaped applicator that secures the guard directly to the ostomy pouch. The guard has a convex shape facing outward that protects the stoma area once secured to the ostomy pouch. The stoma guard is sized to conform around the upper part of the ostomy pouch where the stoma is located. The stoma guard includes an opening at the base permitting flow of waste material. The stoma guard does not need to be removed when emptying waste from the ostomy pouch.

摘要： A cover for an ostomy pouch comprises a flexible waterproof material and an opening sealable in a waterproof manner through which the ostomy pouch may pass. An aperture in the front side is sized to closely surround an orifice of the ostomy pouch. A flange extends outward from the aperture and is sized to cover any portion of the ostomy pouch which projects through the aperture. An adhesive layer contacts the flange and adheres removably to the skin of the wearer. In an embodiment, a resilient ring surrounds the aperture. Reusable and disposable versions of the cover are provided.
