摘要： A single use device for capturing fecal matter excreted from the anus of a user. The device includes a flexible fecal matter container having a closed end and an opening that is in fluid communication with a volume enclosed by the flexible container. An adhesive is disposed about the opening of the flexible container and has a first side that is secured to the flexible container. A second side of the adhesive is constructed to be removably applied to the epidermis of the user proximate an anal opening of the user. The adhesive is shaped to cooperate with the epidermis to circumscribe the anus in a sealed manner without interfering or overlapping anatomy associated with urinary function or medical devices, such as a catheter, associated therewith.

摘要： A urine control device to be placed intermediate a catheter and a collection bag is provided. The urine control device includes first and second bell shaped housings with a magnetic valve disposed between the first and the second housings. When the pressure from the urine which flows through the present catheter enters the first chamber and exceeds the magnetic attraction in the valve, the valve pivotally opens, permitting the urine to flow through the open valve and into the second chamber. Due to the shape of the chambers, secondary forces create a low pressure zone in the second chamber which helps empty the bladder fully. Once the flow ceases, the magnetic valve pivotally shuts, allowing the urine pressure to build once again. Various sample ports and air entry ports may be provided on the device.

摘要： The present invention relates to fluid flow diversion in medical procedures, and, more particularly, to a valve assembly for preventing retrograde flow of urine from a collection device into a urinary catheter so as to reduce the risk of and/or prevent catheter-associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI). The valve assembly of the present invention is a discrete, stand-alone valve assembly configured to provide a fluid connection between a urinary catheter (e.g., Foley catheter), and a collection device (e.g., urine drainage bag) or the tubing for coupling the catheter to the collection device. The valve assembly is configured to permit antegrade flow of urine from the catheter into the collection device, while preventing retrograde flow of urine (e.g., backflow) from the collection device into the catheter, thereby reducing the risk of CAUTI.

摘要： A washable ostomy pouch configured for accumulating discharged waste and also for draining and washing it without detaching the pouch from the user. The washable pouch has a draining duct and a washing duct which is elevated above the waste level and enables pouring water without waste overflow. The washable pouch has a flat structure. Both the washing and draining ducts have seals. The washing duct has a funnel shape which facilitates pouring water into the pouch, whereby liquefying the discharged waste and enabling easier draining. The abdominal inlet coupling can detachably secure the washable pouch to a snugly fitting abdominal adhesive faceplate coupling which is attached to an abdominal adhesive faceplate that is configured to adhere to the user's abdominal skin surrounding the user's stoma. This allows the user to replace the pouch multiple times without having to detach the abdominal adhesive faceplate.

摘要： A bag connector system includes a first coupling element, with a self-closing seal and a housing having a fluid inlet port and a fluid outlet port, and a second coupling element, with a housing having a fluid inlet end and a fluid outlet end. The fluid inlet end is configured to displace the self-closing seal when inserted into the fluid outlet port of the first coupling element. A bag connector system optionally includes a locking mechanism to maintain the first coupling element and second coupling element in a coupled state. Uncoupling of the first and second coupling elements results in minimal fluid contamination on the outer surfaces of the coupling elements. The bag connector systems provided herein are included in medical appliances for waste management.
