    摘要: A gantry system supports a human user in a harness attached to a carriage on a track. The carriage may comprise a body defining a U-shaped or C-shaped opening sized to receive a cylindrical track, and a pair of wheels attached to the body that roll along a top portion of the track with sufficiently minimal drag to permit the user to move the carriage without assistance. Single track embodiments may have a straight or curved trajectory and may have intersecting track portions with junctions that move between the intersecting track portions. In other embodiments, the carriage traverses a perpendicular track spanning a pair of parallel tracks. The perpendicular track may traverse the parallel tracks with or without motorized assistance. A counterweight system may provide partial weight support for the user. In one embodiment, the tracks are supported by a collapsible free-standing structure.

    摘要: A coupling that includes a housing with a cutout; a cylindric shaft extending transversely to the cutout through aligned openings; a hook having a width which is less than the width of the cutout and which has a receiving opening with a diameter corresponding to the shaft diameter that is received in the opening. An insertion opening is provided that has a width which is less than the shaft diameter and which is oriented at an angle relative to a direction of pull by loading the hook. A part of the shaft that is disposed in the cutout is provided with opposing flats with a mutual spacing which is less than the width of the insertion opening. The shaft is arranged for longitudinal manual displacement against the action of a spring, from a first position where the flats are located outside the cutout to a second position where the flats are in the cutout.

    摘要: A safety hook for mounting on the extremity of a spreader bar of a patient lift is secured to a base member that is connected to or integral with the spreader bar. A load-bearing hook member is pivotally suspended from the base member to allow the hook member to move in the plane of the hook member between an open position and a closed position in which the free end of the hook member engages the base member at an engagement point. The hook member is shaped such that it is urged to the closed position when a downward load is applied to it, and that it is urged to the open position when an upward load is applied to it. Under normal circumstances the safety hook closes automatically because of the weight of the load.

    摘要: A method for transferring a patient from a first surface to a second surface includes providing a winch having a drive system and two reels operatively coupled to the drive system. Two straps are attached to each of the reels. Two wedge cushions are provided for pushing the patient in the direction of the winch from the first surface to the second surface. The wedge cushions have a cover, an insert and an attachment mechanism for attaching them to the straps. The wedge cushions are thinner at the attachment mechanism end. The first of the two straps is passed beneath the patient and is attached to a first wedge cushion. The second of the two straps is passed beneath the patient and is attached to another wedge cushion. The reels are rotated, thereby pulling the two straps until each of the wedge cushions wedge firmly beneath the patient. Nest, the reels are rotated together, thereby pulling the two straps until the patient is transferred from the first surface to the second surface.

    摘要: The invention relates to a safety hook for mounting on the extremity of a spreader bar (1) of a patient lift. The safety hook comprises a base member (5) that is connected to or integral with the spreader bar (1). A load-bearing hook member (2) is pivotally suspended from the base member (5) to allow the hook member (2) to move in the plane of the hook member (2) between an open position and a closed position in which the free end of the hook member (2) engages the base member (5) at an engagement point (15). The hook member (2) is shaped such that it is urged to the closed position when a downward load is applied to it, and that it is urged to the open position when an upward load is applied to it. Retaining means keep the hook member (2) in both the open position and in the closed position unless a substantial force is applied to the hook member.
