Abstract: Disclosed are systems and processes related to cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). One embodiment of the system comprises an inspiration chamber and an expiration chamber, which work cooperatively to provide gas (e.g., Oxygen (O2)) to a subject (e.g., human patient) during inspiration and extract and expel expired gas (e.g., Carbon Dioxide (CO2)) from the subject during expiration as a medical professional applies CPR to the subject. In other words, this disclosure provides systems and processes that allow for substantially synchronous chest compressions with positive pressure active inspirations and, also, substantially synchronous chest decompressions with negative pressure active expirations.

Abstract: Systems and devices described herein provide respiration assistance to users who have difficulty breathing on their own, and include a cuirass configured to be coupled to a thorax of the user and a ventilator fluidically coupled to the cuirass. The ventilator includes a housing, a pump including an inlet and outlet, a valve, an actuator, and a controller in communication with the actuator. The controller is configured to cause the actuator to: move the valve into a first configuration in which a first flow path of the valve fluidically couples the outlet to the cuirass and a second flow path of the valve fluidically couples the inlet to an external environment during exhalation and move the valve into a second configuration in which the first flow path fluidically couples the inlet to the cuirass and the second flow path fluidically couples the outlet to the internal volume during inhalation.

Abstract: A wearable haptic navigation system for obscured visibility environments, the wearable haptic navigation system including:
a wearable haptic component, in one alternative a body covering suite; and
a mapping data collector and processor in communication with the wearable haptic component; wherein the mapping data collector and processor collects data related to a path traversed by a user of the wearable haptic navigation system and generates at least one proprioception suggestion signal to the wearable haptic component providing the user with a suggested safe egress path and/or a suggested safe body position.-

Abstract: A system and method for aiding in the proper placement of ECG electrodes and other resuscitation parameters. The system includes motion sensors disposed on the ECG electrodes, and a defibrillator control system operable to interpret motion signals from the motions sensors to determine that an electrode is in motion, and thus being handled by rescuer setting up the system for use, and, based on this determination, prompt the rescuer to place the electrode in its intended location on the body of the patient. The control system may also be operable to determine relative motion and/orientation of the motion sensors and control resuscitation based on the relative motion and/orientation of the motion sensors.
