摘要: An autoinjector includes a case adapted to hold a medicament container having a needle telescopically coupled to the case and movable between a first extended position relative to the case in which the needle is covered and a retracted position relative to the case in which the needle is exposed. The autoinjector includes a plunger rotationally and slidably disposed in the case rotatable relative to the case between a first rotational position in which the plunger is engaged to the case and a second rotational position in which the plunger disengages the case engages the plunger to rotate the plunger from the first rotational position to the second rotational position when the needle shroud translates from the first extended position to the retracted position. The autoinjector includes a cap removably coupled to the case includes at least one compliant case beam adapted to releasably engage at least one aperture in the case.

摘要: An auto-injector for administering a dose of a liquid medicament includes an elongate housing arranged to contain a syringe with a hollow needle and a stopper for sealing the syringe and displacing the medicament, the housing having a distal end and a proximal end with an orifice intended to be applied against an injection site. The syringe is slidably arranged with respect to the housing. A spring capable of, upon activation: pushing the needle from a covered position inside the housing into an advanced position through the orifice and past the proximal end (P), operating the syringe to supply the dose of medicament (M), and retracting the syringe with the needle into the covered position. After delivering the medicament, an activator arranged to lock the spring in a pressurized state prior to manual operation and capable of, upon manual operation, releasing the spring for injection.

摘要: An injection device for delivering a dose of medicament from a syringe comprises a housing with a forward body and rearward body, the forward and rearward bodies being axially moveably interconnected. A drive mechanism is arranged, in use, to deliver a dose from the syringe, the drive mechanism being activated by a trigger. The injection device further comprises an interlock having a locked position in which activation of the drive mechanism by the trigger is prevented and an unlocked position in which the drive mechanism may be activated. The interlock arrangement is moved to the unlocked position by relative axial movement of the forward and rearward body caused by the injection device being urged against an injection site. The injection device further comprises an interlock hold arrangement associated with a forward facing skin abutment surface of the injection device. The interlock hold arrangement is configured to help maintain the alignment of the rearward and forward body when the interlock is in the unlocked position and the forward facing skin abutment surface is in contact with an injection site.

The arrangement comprises a released state in which (i) the energy member induces a torque onto the transfer member, and (ii) the transfer member rotates in a first rotational direction due to the induced torque and thereby forces the plunger rod to move axially in a distal direction. The plunger rod being rotationally fixed with respect to the housing element.

摘要: The invention provides methods and apparatus for injecting a medicine, especially a highly viscous medicine. Conventional methods and apparatus for injecting viscous medicines suffers suffer from a variety of problems such as excessive force during the initial needle insertion and initial injection. In an inventive method, during the initial phase of the injection, energy is stored in a torsion spring that is subsequently released during a later stage of the injection. The present invention also provides for an improved autoinjector; especially via the use of a combination compression and torsion spring that powers the injection through controlling force applied to a plunger via a screw flange or nut having pins that ride in a prescribed path down the length of the autoinjector.
