摘要:
A mechanism for attaching, for example, a boot to a ski, that uses a sphere in cylinder geometry to enable release in a wide array of incremental directions and rotations.
摘要:
A boot-retaining unit of a ski binding secures one end, in particular the toe end, of a ski boot using two boot sole holders pivotable about vertical axes, which engage an end region of the sole periphery or ski boot from the side, front and/or top and interact with a spring arrangement, which biases the boot/sole holder against the boot/sole periphery and allows the ski boot to be disengaged counter to a disengaging resistance. The sole holders are double-armed levers, with the lever arms of the sole holders distal from the sole interacting with pistons which are displaceable in a direction transverse to the ski binding's axis and, by a spring which is clamped between and engages the pistons, are forced against the lever arms which are remote from the sole.

A ski boot sole for cooperating with a ski binding to releasably hold the sole in the binding, the sole having a forward toe sole extending rearwardly from the front of the sole to a forward gap, a toe exterior insert in the forward gap which is located over a forward depression in the base of the ski boot, a central sole extending rearwardly from the front gap, a heel exterior insert located in a rearward gap over a rearward depression in the boot base and a heel sole extending from the rearward end of the rearward gap at least to the end of the boot. The foregoing boot sole is in combination with the base of the boot, and the base has forward and rearward recesses for receiving toe holders rotating about longitudinally extending axes and heel holders rotating about a transverse axis for releasably locking the respective toe exterior insert and heel exterior insert to the binding. The foregoing ski boot sole and ski boot base are in combination with a ski boot binding having portions rotating in the forward and rearward recesses for releasably engagement with the toe exterior insert and the heel exterior insert. A toe interior insert and a heel interior insert can be attached to the respective exterior inserts for respective attaching devices.
摘要:
An alpine ski binding system for releasably securing a ski boot to a ski. The binding system includes a secondary toe release that provides an attenuated release threshold under lateral shear loading conditions that can cause anterior cruciate ligament injuries. The secondary toe release responds to a trigger that senses the lateral shear loads applied to the inside (medial) afterbody of the ski and triggers the secondary toe release the boot at an attenuated release torque. Lateral shear loads applied to the ski along the leading (medial) forebody and along the entire outside (lateral side) of the ski substantially do not cause the trigger to trip.

The present invention relates to a safety ski binding for a ski or a ski board, which has central attaching means, and is capable of reacting to the friction between the boot and the binding. This is achieved by providing a pair of plates which are moveable one in relation to the other. A portion of the front and rear boot holding cups being moveably attached to each plate.

The invention relates to a connecting device (1) between a boot (2) and a board-like type of sports equipment (3), in particular a ski binding. The connecting device comprises a toe or front binding fixture (5) that can be associated with the tip (4) of the boot, and a heel or rear binding fixture (7) that can be associated with the heel area (6) the boot (2). The binding fixtures each have a sole holder (8,9) for engaging the boot (2). The boot is clamped between the sole holders with a pre-tensioning force that is applicable via a pre-tensioning spring (11). A release device (12,13) for the sole holder (8,9) is arranged between the sole holder (8,9) and a bearing block (14,15) of the toe and heel binding fixtures (5,7), and provision is made for a joint arrangement for rotationally supporting the sole holder (8,9) and the bearing block (14,15), the latter being arranged fixed on the ski, in relation to one another in at least two three-dimensional directions extending perpendicularly to each other, whereof one direction is aligned vertically to a support surface (50) supporting the bearing block (14,15) on the board-like type of sports equipment (3). The joint arrangement disposed between the bearing block (14,15) and the sole holder (8,9) or at least one sole holder component (24,25), is formed by at least one ball-and-socket joint (26, 27, 101).

Ski equipment that provides, preferably in combination, a toe release system for reducing the risk of knee injuries and a steering system for increasing turn performance. In the toe release system, the binding has a toe binding portion secured with a securing element at a forward position relative to a rear binding portion of the binding, and a release element that communicates with the securing element for releasing the toe binding portion in response to the application of pressure to the rear cuff of a boot secured with the binding, permitting movement of the toe binding portion away from the rear binding portion and thereby releasing a toe of the boot. In the steering system, the boot includes a tracking assembly that permits controlled flexing of the front and rear cuffs of the boot by applying forward and lateral pressure to the front cuff.

The binding comprises a pair of pistons (7, 8) extending under the boot and each stressed by a spring (14, 15). The arms of a sole clamp (2, 3) act on these pistons. The pistons are connected together by a linking means (20), and the binding comprises means (24, 25) for controlling the linking means, capable of occupying a first position, in which the pistons are secured by the linking means, and a second position in which one of the pistons is able to move on its own, at least over a certain travel common to the two pistons. The control means (24, 25) are controlled magnetically by the boot so as to obtain a binding with asymmetrical release resistance.

An element for retaining a boot on a skid, the retention element including a base provided to be affixedly connected to the ski, overlaid by a body, a jaw having two independent retaining wings journalled to the body about a vertical axle, the wings having, beyond their journal axle, a tip exerting an action by pressure on the head of a movable tie rod biased by a spring A rocker, journalled with respect to the base, is inserted between the tips and the head of the tie rod, the tips being in support against an arm of the rocker, and the rocker being mounted asymmetrically with respect to the base or the tips.
摘要:
A binding (1) retains a ski boot (5) on a ski (3) in a releasable manner. A jaw (4, 4a, 4b) is disposed symmetrically with respect to a longitudinal-vertical plane of symmetry (P). The jaw (4, 4a, 4b) is resiliently biases against a housing by a compression spring (12) acting on a pulling member (9) which is pivotally attached to the jaw by a pin (10). The jaw (4) includes rollers (14a, 14b, 15a, 15b) which help to retain the toe of the ski boot (5) on the ski (3). Two pivot axes (XX', YY') are defined by projections (7a, 7b) that are received in grooves (8a, 8b). The projections (7a, 7b) are defined by the housing (2) and the grooves (8a, 8b) are on a mating surface of the jaw (4, 4a, 4b), or vice versa. The pivot axes (XX', YY') are not symmetric with respect to the plane of symmetry (P). One of the axes is displaced a further distance (d) from the symmetry plane (P) than the other such that they operate on the compression springs with different effective lever arms (D1, D2). In this manner, more force is required to pivot the jaw about one of the pivot axes than the other.
