    摘要： Apparatus for aerating a pool of liquid has a hollow, rotatable drive shaft journaled for rotation about an axis and coupled at one end to a driving motor. A propeller is mounted at the other end of the drive shaft. The propeller has a plurality of hollow blades in communication with an internal aerating fluid passage in the drive shaft. A plurality of air inlets is provided in the drive shaft and at least one outlet port is provided in each blade at the zone of highest negative pressure resulting from rotation of the blade in the liquid. The drive shaft automatically is movable from a dry-docked position in which the shaft is out of the liquid to an operating position in which the propeller blades are immersed in the liquid. A seal is provided between the propeller and the shaft journal to protect the latter against exposure to the liquid. The shaft is continuously pressurized between the journal and the seal to prevent liquid from passing through the seal should the seal become worn.

    摘要： An apparatus for the treatment of liquid by aeration is provided. The apparatus has a motor, a propeller carried by a motor-driven shaft, an air flow passage to the propeller, bearings supporting the shaft at a location spaced from the motor and at least one bearing seal between a bearing and the propeller. In accordance with the present invention, a module for releasably carrying at least one of the bearing seals is detachably secured about the shaft to faciliate removal of at least the bearing seals from the apparatus.

    摘要： An apparatus for mixing gas and liquid is disclosed. The apparatus may have a plurality of blades rotated about a common shaft. The blades may have a forward portion, which cuts through a liquid, and a trailing portion, which forms the leading part of a gas cavity. The gas cavity is in communication with a gas inlet and the bulk fluid. As the blades pass through a liquid, a reduced pressure zone is formed immediately behind the blade. The reduced pressure zone allows air to be aspirated from the gas inlet into the gas cavity adjacent to the blade. Gas in the gas cavity is sheared into discrete bubbles and transferred to the liquid by the action of the trailing blade wake currents.

    摘要： A shroud for an impeller used for aeration of contaminated water, has a front portion for a propeller, behind it is a rear portion with separate apertures for water and air, the air aperture accommodates the propeller shaft. A draft tube connected to the shroud has a stub tube at the rear end for air ingress. The propeller shaft passes through the draft tube, and a bearing box to a motor. The draft tube has a rear attachment plate to which the bearing box is attached. The bearing box has a bearing for the shaft held in place by a retainer, it also is attached at its rear to a motor mounting plate, on which the motor is mounted. The impeller is mounted on a swivel arm mounted pivotally on a frame, typically on a raft. The swivel arm allows the impeller to be positioned angularly and lockably in a plurality of angular positions from horizontal to vertical.
