摘要: The present set of embodiments relate to a bioproduction system, method, and apparatus for mixing a fluid. The bioproduction mixing system includes an offset helical assembly having a stabilizer and impeller for mixing a fluid within a flexible compartment The bioproduction mixing system is designed for efficient mixing of the fluid and for use with a variety of different impellers that can be located at different locations according to the volume and shape characteristics of the flexible compartment. The bioproduction mixing system is optimized to eliminate stagnation zones while maximizing bulk fluid flow.

摘要: A device for stirring a liquid or a granular material comprising a stirring agitator, a rotating drive shaft for rotating the stirring agitator, a rotating drive shaft for rotating the stirring agitator, a stationary axle extending in an essentially vertical direction about which the stirring agitator is adapted to rotate, and a transfer arrangement for contactless transfer of rotation of the drive shaft to the stirring agitator. The device has a centre axis around which the stirring agitator and the drive shaft are adapted to rotate, and means for generating a magnetic force exerting an upwardly directed force component on the stirring agitator. The means for generating a magnetic force comprises a first element arranged in a stirring agitator and a second element associated with the stationary axle. At least one of the first element and the second element comprises a permanent magnet. At least one of the first element and the second element is arranged such that the centre axis extends through the first element and/or the second element.

摘要: A mixing system for mixing fluids or the like in a mixing vessel. The mixing system includes a fixed conduit connected to the top portion of the vessel extends into the vessel. The system also has a rotating shaft having disposed within the fixed conduit that rotates within the fixed conduit while the mixing system is in operation. An impeller is attached to the rotating shaft. The impeller blade has a flat central disk portion, at least a pair of extensions extending from a central disk portion, and at least two leading edges defined by the outer periphery of the disk portion. Each leading edge spans from one extension to an adjacent extension, and each leading edge has at least a portion at which the radius of the leading edge from the center increases to form a continuous increasing radius curve. Each leading edge forms an increasing radius spiral edge surface in between the extensions.

Using these cover assemblies facilitates moving liquid from the container without reliance on gravity. The cover assemblies comprise: a lid (112) having an upper surface (114) and a lower surface (116); an agitation drive shaft (105) mounted through an aperture in the lid having at least one stirrer (118) affixed thereto; and a fluid conduit (120) having an inlet (132) and being in fluid communication with a discharge opening (107). Fluid can be pumped through a fluid path or can be moved pneumatically.

In one aspect of the invention, the orientation of magnetic coupling between the impeller magnets and the external driver magnets is modified such that the coupling is neither strictly axial nor strictly radial. Also disclosed are “receiver-less” retainer configurations whereby the single-use container need not have a rigid base that defines a cup or post to engage of rotatable agitator.

摘要: A combination fin-type mixer and rotor/stator-type homogenizer provides the ability to perform low-shear mixing or high-shear homogenizing by a single device without changing attachments or hardware. The low-shear mixing fins extend outwardly from the stator of the high-shear rotor/stator homogenizer, and the rotor rotates within the stator. For high-shear homogenizing, the rotor is rotated within the stator. And for low-shear mixing, the finned stator is selectively interlocked to and rotated with the rotor. A method of combining components includes resetting the device from low-shear mixing mode to high-shear homogenizing mode, and vice versa, without changing attachments or hardware.
