The energy recovery device has a first active surface, via which clarified material can flow out when the centrifuge drum is rotated in the first direction of rotation, and a second active surface, via which clarified material can flow out when the centrifuge drum is rotated in the second direction of rotation.

摘要： A solid-bowl screw centrifuge includes one or more discharge weir(s) for discharging clarified liquid out of a drum which has a rotational axis and a rotational direction. The centrifuge has one or more through-opening(s) in a drum cover, each of which is associated with a weir plate having a recess. An open discharge channel is formed on the through-opening at the recess, a deflection from a direction parallel to the rotational direction of the drum substantially into a circumferential direction in the rotational direction being carried out by the discharge channel. The discharge channel is designed such that exiting liquid is conducted over the base of the discharge channel to an overflow edge. The base of the discharge channel to the overflow edge is inclined inwards in the rotational direction relative to the tangential direction by an inclination angle δ≧0 at the point of the overflow edge.

The rotating body comprises a bowl, which comprises a base at one longitudinal end of said bowl, said base defining a rear longitudinal area. An outlet passage extends through the base and an outlet housing is provided in the rear longitudinal area. The outlet housing is communicating with the outlet passage to receive liquid therefrom and the outlet housing has an outlet opening discharging in use liquid from the rotating body. The outlet opening comprises a weir edge defining in normal use a level of a surface of a liquid in the bowl. The outlet housing is rotatable around an adjustment axis and the outlet opening is placed in a side wall offset from the adjustment axis.

The outlet device has a guide, by means of which the deflected fluid can be brought to a lower-energy positional potential in the gravitational field of the solid bowl centrifuge before being thrown off by the outlet device.
