Abstract:
A switchable slot valve for a coating plant controls delivery of a pasty coating material. The switchable slot valve has a valve bore incorporated in a valve main body and is aligned in a valve extent direction, and a valve control rod is rotatable to switch between a throughput position and a closed position and is mounted in the valve bore by bearing faces is disposed. To mitigate disruptions by coating material which has made its way into a bearing gap between the valve bore and the bearing faces, depression regions are provided in the region of which the respective outer circumferential part-face does not bear on the inner circumferential face of the valve bore, on the outer circumferential part-faces between the slot-shaped duct inlet and the slot-shaped duct outlet.

A liquid material discharge device that can discharge a liquid material supplied to the device while keeping the liquid material clean and holding a stable discharge amount of the liquid material, and that can be reduced in size. The liquid material discharge device comprises a liquid material supply section for supplying a liquid material to be discharged, a discharge section having a discharge port for discharging the liquid material, a measurement section comprising a measurement hole and a plunger sliding along an inner wall surface of the measurement hole to suck and discharge the liquid material into and from the measurement hole, a valve section comprising a body and a valve member which is formed with a channel for interconnecting the liquid material supply section and the measurement section and with a channel for interconnecting the measurement section and the discharge section, the valve member sliding in a space formed in the body, and a control section for controlling the aforesaid sections. When the liquid material is sucked into the measurement hole, the control section controls the valve member to be located at a first position to interconnect the liquid material supply section and the measurement section and to interrupt the interconnection between the measurement section and the discharge section. When the liquid material in the measurement hole is discharged, it controls the valve member to be located at a second position to interconnect the measurement section and the discharge section and to interrupt the interconnection between the liquid material supply section and the measurement section.

The means for interrupting the flow comprise a cylindrical case formed into the frame of the dispenser, extending along the total length thereof, inlet channels for the glue leading to the case, nozzle channels leading out from the case and a pipe element mounted into the case with a sliding fit, said pipe element being equipped with openings for forming a flow connection between the inlet channels of the glue and the nozzle channels in one position of the pipe element with respect to the frame and for closing said flow connection in the second position of the pipe element with respect to the frame.
Abstract:
An applicator for application of a substance onto a material. The applicator has a housing, a valve and a nozzle. The applicator may also have a journal that is connected to the valve which together translate in a linear motion to provide shuttering functionality. The valve may be circular or non-circular in shape. The applicator may extrude hot-melt onto a continuous web or drum.In another embodiment, the applicator may have a housing and a valve. The applicator may also have a journal that is connected to the valve which translate together in a linear motion to profiled product application functionality and rotate together to provide shuttering functionality. The valve may be circular or non-circular in shape. The applicator may extrude hot-melt onto a continuous web or drum.
Abstract:
A system that applies strips of material, such as labels, to a cylindrical body, such as a bottle. The system includes a vacuum cylinder that holds the labels. The vacuum cylinder rotates bringing the labels into contact with a rotary application head that applies hot melt adhesive to the passing labels. The rotary application head includes a feed channel system that cooperates with a mask cylinder to controllably apply the adhesive. The adhesive covered label then is fixed to a bottle or other device that is rotating in a carousel.
Abstract:
An applicator for application of a substance onto a material. The applicator having a housing, valve and slot. The housing having at least one housing inlet for the introduction of the substance into the housing and at least one housing channel for the distribution of the substance from the housing inlet. The valve having at least one inlet groove for the further distribution of the substance, wherein the valve is rotated to provide profiled product application functionality; and at least one inlet bore for the further distribution of the substance; and at least one valve reservoir to provide manifold functionality of the substance; and at least one outlet bore for the further distribution of the substance; and at least one inlet groove for the extrusion of the substance onto the material. The slot and the outlet groove together form an extrusion pattern of the hot-melt.
Abstract:
An application head (11) for the contact-free application of liquid media such as liquefied thermoplastic plastics or melted hot-melt adhesives to a length of material (22) which is movable relative to the application head. The head includes a housing (12), a cylinder chamber (20) which is provided in the housing and in which a cylinder slide (13) is supported so as to be rotatingly driveable, and a nozzle device (18) for discharging liquid medium. The nozzle device (18) is controllable by the cylinder slide (13) and extends transversely to the direction of movement of the length of material. The cylinder slide (13), in its cylindrical surface, includes first surface grooves (27) which are supplied with liquid medium and which, as a function of the rotational position, are able to communicate with the nozzle device (18). The cylinder slide (13), in its cylindrical surface, also includes second surface grooves (31) which accommodate sealing strips (32) which, with pre-pressure, rest against the surface of the cylinder chamber (20).

An application head includes a storage-side valve, a discharge-side valve and a plunger. The storage-side valve slides in a space in communication with an intermediate liquid passage between the storage-side valve and the discharge-side valve and changes the volume of liquid in the intermediate liquid passage. Each of the storage-side valve and the discharge-side valve has a column-shaped part, includes a through-hole penetrating between outer circumferential surfaces of the column-shaped part, and is rotatable at least within a predetermined angular range around a center axis of the column-shaped part. Each of the through-holes of the storage-side valve and the discharge-side valve communicates with liquid passages on both sides at a predetermined rotational position and does not communicate with the liquid passage on both sides at other rotational positions outside the angular range.
