摘要： In one aspect, a vacuum drum assembly for use with a labeling apparatus includes apertures for supporting labels on an outer surface using vacuum pressure. The vacuum drum assembly may include air distributors for providing vacuum pressure to selected apertures to accommodate various lengths or widths of labels. The vacuum drum assembly may also be adjustable to vary the spacing between apertures to accommodate various lengths of labels.

摘要： In one aspect, a labeling apparatus for applying a label onto a moving object includes a label delivery mechanism configured to hold the label and operable to deliver the label to the object. At least first plurality of electrically-actuated adhesive applicators is positioned and arranged to dispense adhesive onto the label such that the label may be adhered to the object. The first plurality of electrically-actuated adhesive applicators is arranged in a first row oriented in a direction transverse to a direction of travel of the label and is configured to dispense adhesive to define a first linear arrangement of dots on the label. Second and third pluralities of electrically-actuated adhesive applicators may be used with the first plurality of electrically-actuated adhesive applicators to obtain a desired adhesive arrangement.

摘要： A system that applies strips of material, such as labels, to a cylindrical body, such as a bottle. The system includes a vacuum cylinder that holds the labels. The vacuum cylinder rotates bringing the labels into contact with a rotary application head that applies hot melt adhesive to the passing labels. The rotary application head includes a feed channel system that cooperates with a mask cylinder to controllably apply the adhesive. The adhesive covered label then is fixed to a bottle or other device that is rotating in a carousel.

摘要： A labeling apparatus is configured for applying a label onto a moving object. The apparatus includes a label delivery mechanism having a fixed reference point and configured to hold the label in a fixed position relative to the fixed reference point. The label delivery mechanism is operable to deliver the label onto the object. A first adhesive applicator includes a first adhesive discharge and is positioned and arranged to dispense adhesive onto a first portion of the label. A second adhesive applicator includes a second adhesive discharge and is positioned and arranged to dispense adhesive onto a second portion of the label during contact with the label. The first adhesive discharge and the second adhesive discharge are maintained at respective fixed positions relative to the fixed reference point.
