摘要: Systems, devices, and methods are described for extruding materials. In certain embodiments, one or more hollow billets are loaded onto an elongate mandrel bar and transported along the mandrel bar to a rotating die. The billets are transported through fluid clamps, which engage the mandrel bar and provide cooling fluid to the mandrel bar tip, and through mandrel grips, which engage the mandrel bar and prevent the mandrel bar from rotating. One or more press-rams advance the billets through a centering insert and into the rotating die. A quench assembly is provided at an extrusion end of the extrusion press to quench the extruded material. A programmable logic controller may be provided to control, at least in part, operations of the extrusion press system.

摘要: Systems, devices, and methods are described for extruding materials. In certain embodiments, one or more hollow billets are loaded onto an elongate mandrel bar and transported along the mandrel bar to a rotating die. 摘要: A die pre-heating system comprises at least one die oven, a robotic hoist and processing structure in communication with the hoist and the at least one die oven. The processing structure is configured to control the hoist to permit an extrusion die to be loaded into the at least one die oven and to be unloaded from the at least one die oven. The processing structure is also configured to cause the at least one die oven to operate according to a production formula for pre-heating an extrusion die loaded therein.

摘要: Extruded metal honeycombs are produced by the direct extrusion of a softened bulk metal feedstock through a honey-comb extrusion die comprising a feedhole array for delivering softened metal through a supporting die baseplate to a honeycomb die discharge section, the discharge section comprising an array of intersecting discharge slots that form the walls of an extruded metal honeycomb structure. This process can be optimized by employing a proper pressure gradient for a particular extrudate flow rate, extrudate composition, and wall-drag condition arising from the particular composition of the feedhole wall, as illustrated graphically in FIG. 4.

摘要: A high pressure, high temperature extrusion apparatus generally includes a pressure means, such as a piston arrangement, for forcing an extrusion material such as a mixed metal powder, through a die which is maintained at a high temperature. A jacket surrounds and supports the die. A pressure responsive, feedback mechanism, control means surrounding the jacket which means are adapted to apply external force to the outer portions of the die, of a sufficient magnitude to counter-balance the inner extrusion forces.

摘要: An extrusion method capable of performing extrusion by means of an extrusion die that can improve oxidation resistance while maintaining the excellent performance of titanium sintered body is provided. The present invention is directed to an extrusion method in which an extrusion material F is extruded through an extrusion hole 33 of a main die body 31. A main die body 31 is prepared, wherein the main die body 31 is constituted by surface-coated cermet material 1 containing cermet base material 11 formed of a sintered body including at least one or more titanium compounds selected from the group consisting of titanium carbide, titanium nitride, and titanium carbonitride as a main component, and an oxidation resistant film 12 formed on a section on the cermet base material 11 corresponding to at least an inner peripheral surface of the extrusion hole and formed of a complex oxide containing titanium. The extrusion die is preheated to a temperature of 420 to 520° C. before initiating the extrusion.
