    摘要: A punch tool assembly includes an adjustment subassembly coupled to a canister sidewall of the assembly. The adjustment subassembly includes a punch head, which engages a punch holder, or body, of the punch tool, at a threaded interface, so that rotation of the punch head moves the punch body/holder along a central longitudinal axis of the punch tool assembly. The adjustment subassembly further includes a locking member, which is biased with respect to the punch head, in a first position, where the locking member is engaged with a locking feature of an engagement sidewall of the subassembly, to lock the punch head and prevent rotation thereof. The locking member may be released, to unlock the punch head, by applying a force to an externally accessible actuation interface of a release member of the subassembly, for example, to rotate the actuation interface about the central longitudinal axis.

    摘要: A multiple punch and multiple die assembly has a workpiece protector as a punch lifter that is operatively associated with each punch for supporting each of the punches in an inactive position as an active punch is moved by the ram to the active, i.e. operating position to thereby eliminate scoring or marking of the sheet material or other workpiece that is being punched. To eliminate the need for hand tools and hand assembly or disassembly, a manually moveable retainer on the punch assembly is provided that can be moved by hand between a punch-releasing and punch-retaining position for holding the punches within the multi-punch assembly during operation. To prevent stress fractures that formerly occurred in die carriers, support of each die is distributed between two different die components thereby reducing impact stress on the carrier as the ram drives the punch through the workpiece.

    摘要: The punch unit is comprised of a punch driver connected with a punch and has a base at its rear end. Securing members keep the punch and the punch driver free of relative rotation during the stroke of the punch. A pre-loaded compression spring can be compressed between the base and a guide bushing receiving the punch, so that it cannot be rotated during the stroke of the punch, but is axially displaceable. To make possible an adjustment of the total length of the punch in arbitrarily small steps, without weakening the connection between the punch and the punch driver, it is provided that the back end of the pressure spring is supported on a spring seat at the rear end of a sliding bushing which is maintained in the guide bushing and is axially displaceable with respect thereto, and that at least the rear part of the punch driver is connected indirectly or directly with the punch via an adjustment screw thread and is in engagement with the sliding bushing in a manner secure against relative rotation by means of releasable securing members.

    摘要: A punch retainer has a bore formed completely therethrough including a first portion and a second portion of greater crosssectional dimension than the first portion, the second bore portion being threaded. A button head type punch includes a body received in the first bore portion and an enlarged head which is received in the second bore portion. Backup means in the form of a threaded plug is threaded within the second bore portion and engages the head of the punch to positively hold the punch in position and to prevent relative axial movement of the punch with respect to the retainer. A plurality of annular spacer members are positioned between the head of the punch and an annular shoulder formed in the punch retainer.
