The machine tool (1) having a work head (9) adapted to support a tool (21), a workpiece holder (30) having a two substantially parallel beams (31) arranged at a distance adjustable orthogonally to the longitudinal extension of the beams, a carriage (35) on each beam (31) movable along the longitudinal extension of the beam (31), on each carriage (35) a suction cup (39) for blocking the workpieces (P) to be machined. The position of each suction cup (39) with respect to the carriage (35) onto which the cup is mounted is adjustable by rotating around an axis (D-D) which is substantially orthogonal to a blocking surface, for blocking the workpieces, defined by the suction cups (39). To each suction cup (39) an actuator (46, 48) is associated, controlling the rotation of the suction cup (39) with respect to the carriage (35) onto which the cup is mounted.
Abstract:
A bending robot takes out a workpiece stored on a stacker while contacting its end face with a storage reference flat plane of the stacker, and then supplies it to a bending machine. The bending robot includes a main body movable parallel to the storage reference flat plane, an arm portion supported by the main body and capable of positioning above the stacker, and a distance sensor provided in the arm portion for measuring a distance to the workpiece stored on the stacker in a contactless manner. According to the bending robot, bending can be done with high efficiency.

To provide a work transfer apparatus which can transfer works at high speed with controlling respectively the posture of the right and left of works. The work transfer apparatus includes an arm moving back and forth between machines in order to transfer work(s), a crossbar coupled to the arm, and a pair of right and left work holding devices provided at the left and right sides of the crossbar and tilt drive devices being provided on the arm, respectively controlling the work holding devices to rotate around an axis of a longitudinal direction of the crossbar.

The invention relates to a production system (1) for free-form bending. It includes a bending press (3) with bending tools (4) which are interchangeably held in tool holders (19, 20), a manipulator (28) with gripping tongs (30) having gripping fingers (31, 32), and a recess (35, 36) disposed in the bending tool (4) with stop regions (49, 50) disposed at a distance apart from one another for manipulating the bending tool (4). Additional contact surfaces (40) are provided on ends (38, 39) of the gripping fingers (31, 32) on sides of the gripping fingers (31, 32) facing away from one another. The ends (38, 39) of the gripping fingers (31, 32) are inserted in the recess (35, 36) in order to hold the bending tool (4). The contact surfaces (40) are pressed against the stop regions (49, 50) in the direction opposite the clamping force for holding the workpiece (2) to be produced.

The invention relates to a drive device for multiaxial transport of workpieces through successive machining stations of a machine tool, in particular of a multistage forming press, wherein the drive device comprises two gripper rails, wherein the two gripper rails are transversely displaceable independently of each other by a first transverse drive assigned to the first gripper rail and a second transverse drive assigned to the second gripper rail for the execution of a closing movement. The gripper rails are here vertically displaceable independently of each other for the execution of a lifting movement, and/or the gripper rails are longitudinally displaceable independently of each other for the execution of a transport movement.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for attaching a safety cutting blade onto a substrate, such as a cardboard blank. A piece of cutting blade material is cut to length and fed to a forming station that bends the piece to form a safety cutting blade having a plurality of cutting teeth. The cutting blade is fed to a crimping station where the cutting blade is mated with a substrate and affixed with the substrate. A transport then conveys the combined cutting blade and substrate away from the crimping station.

An apparatus and method for heating and transferring a workpiece to a forming press for superplastic forming. The apparatus includes a heater assembly, having upper and lower heated platens, mounted to a frame. The heater assembly heats the workpiece to a predetermined temperature. A shuttle assembly operates to remove the heated workpiece from the heater assembly and transfer it to the forming press for forming.

A device is provided comprising a guide mechanism used to position and securely hold a sheet metal blank in a sheet metal forming press that is operated at high temperatures. A sheet metal blank is initially positioned in the forming press by resting the sheet metal blank on the highest portion of the convex surface of the lower tool member and counter balancing it with a blank loading device that includes a support hand to initially hold the blank. The guide apparatus comprises an engagement tool mounted to a beam that is slidably attached to guide supports. As the upper tool member drops, the engagement tool pinches and securely holds the sheet metal blank as the guide supports slide along the beam in sync with the downward movement of the upper tool member.
