    摘要: A method for semi-continuous casting of a strand (1) of steel in a strand casting machine and a strand casting machine for such casting. The strand has little segregation of the center and porosity. Yet it is castable rapidly. The method steps are: at a casting start of the strand casting machine, pouring liquid steel into an open-ended mold (2). The mold is closed by a cold strand (6). The liquid steel forms, together with the cold strand, a completely solidified strand start (1a) and subsequently forms a semi-solidified strand (1b). Then extracting the semi-solidified strand (1b) from the open-ended mold (2). Supporting and guiding the semi-solidified strand (1b) in a strand guide (3). Cooling the semi-solidified strand (1b) by secondary cooling (4) at the casting end of the strand casting machine, ending the pouring of liquid steel into the open-ended mold (2) and forming a strand end (1c). Extracting the strand end (1c) from the open-ended mold (2). Ending the extraction such that the strand end (1c) lies outside the open-ended mold (2). Ending the secondary cooling (4). Controlling or regulating cooling of the semi-solidified strand (1b) until complete solidification of the strand (1) in a tertiary cooling zone (5) of the strand casting machine. The cooling effect is stronger at the strand start (1a) and decreases towards the strand end (1c). Discharging the strand (1) from the strand casting machine.

    摘要: A metal supporting structure is disposed just beneath the mold of a continuous casting machine for supporting and cooling hot metal coming down from the mold. The structure comprises a backing frame which is disposed just beneath the mold of the continuous casting machine for defining a cavity leading from the exit of the mold. The backing frame is formed therein with a number of through openings. A number of spray nozzles are arranged at the back of the backing frame and which are directed to spray cooling water through the openings onto the skin of the metal being continuously drawn from the mold into the cavity of the backing frame. A wear lining is disposed to line the inner wall of the backing frame.

    摘要: A strand guiding apparatus includes a plurality of pairs of rollers arranged along a moving direction of a strand, a plurality of drive motors for generating driving forces to drive the pairs of rollers, a plurality of worm reducers for transmitting the driving forces of the drive motors to the pairs of rollers while reducing the rotational speed of the drive motors, each worm reducer having a worm extending in a direction orthogonal to an axis of the corresponding roller, and operable to transmit a load occurring at the roller to the corresponding drive motor, and a control unit for controlling the respective rotational speeds of the rollers and/or the respective driving forces of the drive motors based on the load to the drive motors. The reliable control for drive rollers can be attained to have a proper rotational speed without causing a reduction in surface quality and chatter in a strand guiding apparatus for continuous casting equipment using worm reducers.
