摘要: An on-car disc brake lathe system for resurfacing a brake disc of a vehicle brake assembly includes a lathe body with a driving motor, a cutting head operably attached to the lathe body, and a drive shaft. The system also includes an alignment system having an electronic controller, input and output adaptors configured to rotate with the drive shaft, one or more adjustment discs, and an adjustment mechanism. The adjustment disc is positioned between the input adaptor and the output adaptor, and an axial alignment of the input adaptor relative to the output adaptor may be varied based on a rotational orientation of the adjustment disc. The adjustment mechanism is configured to change the rotational orientation of the adjustment disc in response to commands from the electronic controller.

摘要: An improved portable brake disc resurfacing tool of the type which is mountable on an automobile wheel hub assembly for resurfacing brake discs without removing the disc from the automobile wheel assembly includes a generally rectangular framework having at its right hand side a frame mounting assembly including opposed arms vertically slidable on the frame and means for maintaining those arms in symmetrical positioning with respect to the frame and with respect to the brake caliper mounting assembly on which the resurfacing tool is to be mounted. The arms are also reversible in their mountings to provide added adjustability of the mounting system for varying brake disc caliper mounting members. The portable brake lathe further includes a tool mounting carriage which is slidingly retained on the framework and provides an adjustable mounting for tool holders which in turn each mount a triangular 12 point removable cutting tool thereon. The cutting tools are positioned opposed in spaced relation for use in cutting opposed side surfaces of an automobile rotor or brake disc while that disc is still mounted on the wheel hub assembly. Either a hand crank system, or a motorized system may be utilized to provide horizontal movement of the tool holder carriage toward and away from the center of the brake disc or rotor during resurfacing.

摘要: The invention refers to a portable lathe device intended primarily for re-turning of worn-out brake discs of vehicles. The lathe device comprises a portable driving device, which via a clutch rotates the brake disc, when this is still mounted on the wheel shaft and the vehicle wheel being dismounted from the brake disc. A tool holder which can be attached to the mounting points for the dismounted brake yoke in the vehicle and which is provided with two individually adjustable lathe tools one for each side of the brake disc, is arranged adjacent to the driving device. The tool holder is movable radially to the brake disc. The driving device is prevented from rotating by motion preventing elements.

摘要: To provide a machine tool capable of processing a work to have a required thickness based on a simple structure without adjusting a distance itself between both cutting tools. A machine tool includes: a spindle rotating around a Z-axis extending in a horizontal direction; a tool post disposed in a movable manner in the Z-axis direction and an X-axis direction orthogonal to the Z-axis direction and in a pivotable manner around a B-axis orthogonal to a plane face containing the X-axis and the Z-axis; a tool having a pair of tips disposed to have a predetermined interval therebetween and fitted to said tool post; and a tool post control unit adjusting a pivot angle of said tool post so that an angle α between a straight line connecting the pair of tips and the Z-axis comes to an angle corresponding to a finished thickness of a work.

摘要: An apparatus and method for automatically compensating for the lateral runout between an on-car lathe apparatus and a vehicle hub axis including one or more stop discs that rotate with the drive shaft of the lathe and that can be selectively stopped from rotating with the shaft by a stop mechanism. In response to such stopping, one or more adjustment discs are caused to rotate in order to adjust the relative position of the axis of the lathe with respect to the axis of the disc brake assembly. In this manner, the system compensates for and corrects lateral runout that exists between two concentrically attached rotating shafts.

摘要: This invention relates to method for fabricating a vehicle hub, bearing and brake disc assembly wherein the brake surface of the brake disc is oriented in a predetermined relationship relative to the outer race of the bearing assembly. The method comprises the steps of: (a) providing a vehicle hub including a hub flange; (b) providing a bearing assembly having an outer race; (c) installing the bearing assembly about the vehicle hub; (d) providing a separately formed brake disc having a brake surface; (e) securing the brake disc to the hub flange of the vehicle hub to produce a vehicle hub, bearing and brake disc assembly; (f) supporting the vehicle hub, bearing and brake disc assembly on a machining apparatus; and (g) using the machining apparatus to machine the brake surface of the brake disc of the vehicle hub, bearing and brake disc assembly whereby the brake surface is oriented in a predetermined relationship relative to the outer race of the bearing assembly.
