    Abstract: The invention provides a machine tool capable of facilitating a process of switching product ejecting apparatuses. The machine tool comprises a spindle which rotates a workpiece around an axis of the spindle, an actuator which reciprocates a rod arranged parallel to the axis of the spindle, and a coupler switched between a coupling position and a standby position. The coupler connects the rod and an ejecting shaft inserted in the spindle when held in the coupling position. The coupler is not connected to at least the ejecting shaft when held in the standby position. The ejecting shaft along with the coupler is moved in the direction of the axis of the spindle according to reciprocation of the rod when the coupler is held in the coupling position.

    Abstract: A part ejector is shown and described wherein a machined part in a CNC lathe is ejected from a spindle of the lathe by means of an air pressure differential. The part ejector includes inner and outer tubes that are coupled to, and aligned with a spindle collet. Machined parts are received within the inner tube and a pin tool moves a pin into the inner tube to pneumatically seal the inner tube and push a machined part past one or more air ports that pneumatically connect the inner tube with an air channel located between the inner and outer tubes. Pressurized air is applied to the air channel and the pin is partially retracted to uncover the air ports thus allowing the pressurized air to enter the inner tube and eject the machined part out.

    Abstract: A workpiece ejector has an air actuator mounted within a lathe spindle for rotation therewith. The ejector actuator is controlled to extend its piston and piston rod to eject a workpiece from the lathe collet. A removable ejector nosepiece may be connected to the piston rod for movement into engagement with a workpiece held in the collet mechanism. Air under pressure is supplied to the air actuator at a first pressure to continuously press the nosepiece against the workpiece to seal the spindle assembly from contaminants, and at a second pressure to eject the workpiece. Controls are provide to sense whether a workpiece was properly ejected and to interrupt lathe operations if a workpiece was not properly ejected.

    Abstract: A holder for retaining disk-shaped workpieces in a processing position comprising at least one revolving feed or delivery arm provided at its face confronting the processing position with a protruding suction cup. A stripper bears against the end face of a suction nozzle at the processing position, the workpiece being retained by a suction nozzle against its end face and being positioned by a holding or retaining notch of the stripper. According to important aspects of the invention the stripper is constructed as a resilient arm member and possesses a control surface which is intended to cooperate with a lifting mechanism which revolves in synchronism with the feed arm, this lefting mechanism being angularly rearwardly offset with regard to the direction of revolving motion of such feed arm. The stripper cooperates with the lifting mechanism in such a manner that when the lifting mechanism arrives at the control surface the stripper is resiliently pivoted out of its workpiece holding position and the workpiece is removed by the lifting mechanism out of the processing position.

A safety door is located between the unloading apparatus and the damper. The unloading device has a footprint of a limited dimension permitting use of the unloading device with a chip conveyor.

    Abstract: A feed mechanism for feeding a workpiece from a first position to a second position comprises a drive member having a carriage mounted thereon, the assembly of drive member and carriage being reciprocable between the first and second positions.
