摘要： A method and apparatus for guiding a cutting tool. The apparatus comprises at least one elongate member having a first track extending longitudinally therealong and a first clamping member located at a first end of a first elongate member and extending perpendicularly thereto. The apparatus further includes a second clamping member slidably locatable along the first track. The second clamping member is adjustably securable within the first track so as to clamp a work piece between the first and second clamping member. The method comprises longitudinally connecting the first and second elongate members with a connection member, applying the first and second elongate members to a surface of the material and clamping the elongate member to the material at a position corresponding to a line to be cut in the material between the first clamping member and the second clamping member.

摘要： A cutting guide for effecting straight accurate cuts along a workpiece includes a clamp, a saw guide pivotally coupled to the clamp and having a guiding edge for bearing support for a portion of the saw so as to guide the saw during the cutting operation of the workpiece, and a cutting template. The cutting template is cuttable so as to produce a template cutting edge on a first template portion and a second discard portion. The template cutting edge identifies the position of the guiding edge relative to a cut line for a specific saw and for a specific angled cut. The cutting template may be used to cut subsequent workpieces having the same cut configuration and using the same saw. A user may have a plurality of cutting templates, each having a different first template portion configuration.

摘要： A saw guide for hand-held power saws may be adjusted for cutting of wooden I-beams at various angles to the length of the I-beam. A first member abuts one flange, and a second member abuts the other flange, of the I-beam. The second member includes an elongated horizontal surface for support of the saw, and an elongated vertical guide surface for guiding the saw in a straight line to create the straight cut. The second member is pivotable in a horizontal plane and lockable relative to the first member to set and lock the position of the guide surface relative to the first member and the I-beam. The second member preferably includes an adjustable stop that is moveable and lockable to various positions on the second member to place the stop against the inner surface of the second flange no matter at what the angle of second member is set. By securing the saw guide with a friction fit nullinsidenull the web and flanges, rather than outside the flanges or around the flanges, the saw guide securely and non-rotatably installed and, yet, is easily removed for subsequent use and repeated use on many I-beams.

摘要： An attachment for a chain saw that allows the angle of a cut to be controlled with great precision. The attachment consists of a rigid, rectangular guide frame with an open window construction. An approximately U-shaped blade mount is hingably attached to the guide frame, thus allowing a saw blade to be inserted through the open window of the guide frame and mounted onto the blade mount. The blade mount, and thus the attached saw blade, can move in an arc with respect to the guide frame, and the attachment includes a selecting means by which to determine the angle between the blade mount and the guide frame and a tightening means by which to secure the blade mount and guide frame in the desired position. An additional feature is a directing fence so as to control the direction of a cut. The fence consists of a first and a second bar that are hingably mounted to one another and can thus be rotated and secured so that any desired angle is set between them. The fence is positioned on an edge of the workpiece so that one of the bars rests along the top edge, and the other bar extends along the side edge at the selected angle. The guide frame is then aligned with the angled bar and kept in sliding contact with it as the chain saw blade cuts through the workpiece.

The slider element is slidable in the slot but may be locked in any adjusted position. Numeric indicia indicate the angle between the base member and angle guide members in each position of the slides along the track. The base member is clamped to a workpiece by dual action clamps separately clamping to the workpiece and to the base member. Extension pieces may be attached to increase the length of the guide member.
