    摘要: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for forming molded tapered products, such as masonry blocks, whereby high quality finished products are removed from their mold without the need for complex machinery for demolding. The mold may include one or more mold cavities having one or more movable cavity walls. The movable cavity walls may include an end liner having a planar product forming surface capable of moving from a vertical position to an angled position. Tapered products may be formed by moving the mold towards a pallet so that the pallet engages with the end liner and causes the end liner to move from the vertical position to the angled position. Moldable material may then be introduced into the mold cavity and may be allowed to remain in the mold cavity until it is self-sustaining.

    摘要: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for forming molded tapered products, such as masonry blocks, whereby high quality finished products are removed from their mold without the need for complex machinery for demolding. The mold may include one or more mold cavities having one or more movable cavity walls. Tapered products may be formed by moving the mold towards a pallet so that the pallet engages with the end liner and causes the end liner to move from the vertical position to the angled position. Moldable material may then be introduced into the mold cavity and may be allowed to remain in the mold cavity until it is self-sustaining. The mold may then be moved away from the pallet such that a molded product remains on the pallet, thereby allowing the end liner to move from the angled position to the vertical position.

    摘要: An elongated, curved framework with a variable degree of curvature. The framework comprises plural link members, joint units connecting the link members together, and elements for bending the link members at the joints. A desired number of link members can be connected together to provide a desired length of elongated, curved framework. Inside the joint unit is located a bolt-engaging member, and the joint unit and the bolt-engaging member are joined together by a bolt. The bolt is engaged with a nut. Rotating the bolt in one direction causes the link members to bend at the joint in one direction. Rotating the bolt in an opposed direction causes the link members to bend at the joint in an opposed direction. Three pins can be used to enable the link members to withstand load well.

    摘要: In a method for forming inverts in a manhole base using a two pour technique, the manhole base is initially formed. Thereafter, channel invert forms are aligned with sidewall openings by alignment members arranged within the manhole openings to assure precise alignment therebetween, wherein the invert formed within the manhole base by pouring the casting material into the base member is in precise alignment with associated sidewall openings. The apparatus for the two pour technique incorporates at least one adjustably positionable channel-forming assembly for forming an invert communicating between associated sidewall openings each having a central axis and whose intersecting central axes define an angle different from 180.degree.. In one arrangement, flexible members join the ends of the invert form. Alignment members on the inverts and a flexible internal member, either alone, or in cooperation with a joining bar and clamp, assure precise alignment between the channel-shaped projections forming the invert and prevent flotation of the invert form during casting.

In the single pour technique, the invert is formed simultaneously with the formation of the manhole base through the use of apparatus including a mold member having a channel-shaped projection for defining the invert. Means are provided for simply, and yet precisely, aligning the mold member having the channel-shaped projection with the members forming the openings in the base member sidewalls by forming a base member whose invert is in precise alignment with associated sidewall openings. The apparatus utilized incorporates at least one adjustably positionable channel-forming assembly for forming an invert for communicating between associated sidewall openings each having a central axis whose intersecting central axes define an angle different from 180.degree.. Alignment members on the channel-forming members employed in the two pour technique cooperate with a joining bar and clamping means to assure precise horizontal alignment between the channel-shaped projections utilized to form the invert.

    摘要: Void former assembly for casting facing elements for reinforced earth. Anchoring recesses are cast into its rear face so that earth-reinforcing strips can be looped through. The anchoring recesses are each formed as a loop channel having a convex inner surface and a concave outer surface, at least one of which has a radius of curvature which increases from the deepest part of the recess towards the rear face. A removable void former assembly and method for casting such facing elements are also described. Because of the varying radius of curvature of the surfaces of the channel, and the rotational and translational withdrawal path of the void formers, the channel can be cast deeper, and with openings which are closer together, than has hitherto been possible using removable void formers.

    摘要: A stackable/foldable modular tie member and specially designed ICF tooling facilitate the manufacturing of a wide variety of ICF blocks having different widths and different heights, the present tie member including a variable width web portion which is positionable within a plurality of internal openings associated with a specially designed male tool, each internal opening being configured to receive folded web portions of varying length so that ICF blocks of different widths can be produced using the same male tool. Each internal opening likewise includes a tie engaging feature for holding the respective tie members in their folded position within the male tool during the molding process. The internal openings enable foldable tie members of different widths to be used in the same male and female tools for producing ICF blocks in different widths in each individual separate male tool. In addition, ICF blocks of varying heights can be produced using the same female tool and a plurality of slightly modified male tools, the difference being only in the height of each respective male tool.

    摘要: An adjustable culvert form facilitates fabrication of rectilinear culverts and skewed culverts that is, culverts having an angular relationship between sidewalls and span. It is particularly useful for the production of three-sided culverts. The form generally defines a parallelogram having low, vertically standing sidewalls which are interconnected at adjacent ends by hinges. The hinges may be either a conventional pair of interleaved pivots coupled by a removable pin or a unique expandable, multiple pin hinge configuration. The form is placed on a smooth horizontal surface such as a previously poured concrete slab, the surface forming the largest continuous surface of the product. The culvert is cast in an inverted orientation. The width and length of the formed product may be adjusted by the incorporation or removal of sidewall panels. Triangular sidewall panels are secured to end adjacent regions of the sidewall panels to form haunches. The walls (legs) of the culvert are formed by square or correspondingly skewed wall forms extending upwardly from the haunch panels. Various inserts may be attached to the form to mold in-situ such features as key or rail securement sites.

    摘要: A system for producing precast manhole bases including an apparatus consisting of a mold jacket defining vertical walls and a mold form disposed within the jacket. The form includes the central portion spaced inwardly from the jacket and channel forming members extending over the central portion with inserts attached to the channel forming members and extending into contact with the jacket walls. When concrete is poured over the mold form and allowed to solidify, the walls of the manhole base form between the jacket walls and the mold form. The vertical walls of the base form between the jacket and the central portion, and the bottom wall of the base forms over the central portion with the channel forming members defining the channels in the bottom wall of the base. The inserts result in openings through the base walls in communication with the channels. The channel forming members consist of a first member attachable in a fixed position on the central portion, this first channel forming member being shaped for defining effluent channel and a central basin in the mold base. The channel forming members further include one or more members extending radially from the basin. These radially extending members include locking means for fixing the members in any desired position relative to the basin, and bracket means are provided for attaching the inserts to the radially extending members.
