Abstract:
Device for cutting and transferring a length of strip let off a continuous strip, comprising a first face and a second face to be laid on a rotary receiving surface and containing a cutting means to separate the said length from the continuous strip along a cutting line, a telescopic conveyor belt, arranged in a longitudinal direction between the cutting means and the receiving surface, to receive the length of strip via the first face, a first half-anvil, upstream of the cutting line, and comprising holding means to grasp the strip via the first face, a transporter, having holding means to grasp the front edge or rear edge of the length of strip via the second face, the transporter able to move in the longitudinal direction. A second half-anvil is intended to collaborate with the first half-anvil during cutting, and positioned downstream of the cutting line and upstream of the telescopic conveyor belt, comprising holding means able to grasp the rear edge of the length of strip via the first face, and able to move in the longitudinal direction.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a carcass cutting and winding apparatus which cuts carcass cord paper rubber-topped in a rolling process during manufacture of a tire according to a predetermined angle and width, and winds the carcass cord paper around a winder with liner paper being interposed therebetween, to prevent folding and crumpling of the cut carcass cord paper while enabling process automation, thereby improving winding uniformity of the carcass material.
Abstract:
A cord cutting apparatus is provided for remotely cutting a terminal end segment of a tire cord line from a toroidal tire building core surface. The apparatus includes a mechanism for capturing, controlling and aligning the cord line end segment; tensioning the end segment between leading and trailing segment ends; and severing the cord end segment at a point opposite an initiation point on the tire build core. The apparatus moves between an extended position proximate the tire building core and a retracted position that does not obstruct the tire building core during subsequent tire construction.
Abstract:
At the time of transfer of a strip-shaped rubber member (15) onto a belt conveyor (12) by a transfer unit, support members (61), each of which is provided on one width-direction side of a corresponding belt (51) and is projectable from a conveying surface of the belt (51), are lifted by a lifting/lowering unit (71) to project from the conveying surface of the belts (51), so that the strip-shaped rubber member (15) is raised from the conveying surface of the belts (51). Therefore, the strip-shaped rubber member (15) is not in sliding contact with the conveying surface of the belts (51) at the time of transfer. As a result, a situation whereby the belts (51) are dragged by the strip-shaped rubber member (15) so that one width-direction edge portion thereof is turned up can be prevented.

Abstract:
Device for embedding a thread (F) in a rubber profiled element (P) in a given direction comprising: a continuous thread-feed means (4) arranged on a fixed structure, a moving support (2) able to run along a structure (1) in a reciprocating rectilinear movement between a raised position and a lowered position and comprising a top (21) and a base (22) between which is formed a duct (25) intended to guide the thread (F), A hollow needle (5) comprising a canal (53) in which the said thread (F) is able to run, which needle is fixed by one of its ends (51) to the base (22) of the moving support (2) in the continuation of the duct (25), and comprising at its other end a tip (52) capable of penetrating the said rubber profiled element (P), a cutter (3) arranged on the structure (1), comprising a rotary blade (30) comprising a cutting wire (34) able, when the needle is in the raised position, to cut off the thread (F) at a given distance (d) from the tip of the needle upon each cycle of reciprocating movement of the needle. The cutter comprises a paddle (32) arranged behind the cutting wire (34) of the blade and intended to fold the tail around the tip (52) of the needle just after the thread has been cut by the blade (30).
Abstract:
Shears for cutting off sections from a material tape, especially a steel cord tape, pulled through by means of a material gripper of a gripping device, with a stationary lower knife and an upper knife, which can be moved relative to the lower knife, and a delivery belt, consisting of a plurality of parallel sectional belts, below the upper knife is disposed, an overarm, which laterally embraces the sectional belt of the delivery belt lying above it, being disposed, which supports the material tape during the cutting process and can be moved downward with the upper knife, the trailing end of the cut-off tape section being clamped and secured in position.
Abstract:
A apparatus and method for applying a stabilizer ply to a tire building drum and more particularly a apparatus and method for cutting and applying the stabilizer ply material and specifically apparatus for cutting the stabilizer ply material between cords disposed therein and correcting for variations of the cord angles during the application process in order to provide an improved splice between the leading and trailing edges of the stabilizer ply material.
Abstract:
An apparatus for counting textile cords in a tire reinforcement belt by cutting the reinforcement belt into a plurality of belt units and successively measuring the number of textile cords in each belt unit is provided. The apparatus includes a feed roller having wound therearound a reinforcement belt on which textile cords are arranged along a longitudinal direction of the reinforcement belt; one or more take-up rollers configured to collect the reinforcement belt from the feed roller; a plurality of guide rollers interposed between the take-up rollers and configured to support a top surface or a bottom surface of the reinforcement belt; one or more light sources, each configured to emit a line of light onto a surface of the reinforcement belt that is passing around the guide rollers; and one or more image sensors configured to capture images reflected off the surface of the reinforcement belt.
