Abstract:
An apparatus for trimming the width of blinds of the type having a head rail, and a bottom rail and blind slats, and having a support body with a head rail opening, and a bottom rail opening, and a blind slat opening the blind components being insertable into their openings from one side of the support body, a die located adjacent to the support body, a head rail cutting recess in the die, guides on the support body for the die, enabling the die to move relative to the head rail opening between two positions and a bottom rail and blind slat cutter operable to cut the bottom rail and the blind slats. A modified apparatus can be used to trim the width of a vertical blind having a head rail and control rods. Also disclosed is a method of trimming the width of blind, having a head rail, a bottom rail and blind slats.
Abstract:
A nut cold cutter devise is used in the assembly and maintenance of semi-autogenous grinding mills for large-scale mining. The device includes a front body, a back body and a hydraulic cylindrical chamber located between the front and back bodies. The front body has a defined cavity in which there is a movable cutting tool and a fixed cutting tool. The nut to-be-cut is positioned in the space located between the two cutting tools. The hydraulic cylindrical chamber contains a push piston that is sealed to the inside of said hydraulic cylindrical chamber with watertight joints. The push piston is attached to a toolholder axis and the movable cutting tool is attached to the front end of the toolholder axis.
Abstract:
A novel method and apparatus for producing an endless flexible seamed belt using templates is disclosed. A first form of the template is a mask template with a template aperture in the form of a puzzle cut pattern to be used in combination with an excimer laser. The template is placed between the excimer laser source and the belt material to be cut. As the excimer laser traverses the width of the belt, the laser forms a puzzle cut pattern on the belt. A second form of the template is a punch and die having patterned edges in the form of a puzzle cut pattern with extremely small nodes and kerfs. The cutting tolerances of the patterned edges make it necessary to fix the punch with respect to the die so that there is no misalignment of the punch and die between cutting operations. This is accomplished by resiliently fixing the punch to the die, rather than having the punch attached to the force generating assembly as in normal punch and die assemblies. Belt material is positioned between a stock gap between the punch and die and the force generating assembly is activated to provide the cutting force. Once the belt material is cut, the cutting force is removed and the force generating assembly returns to its retracted position. Both types of templates result in very clean cuts without deformation or distortion.
Abstract:
A method of trimming the width of a blind having a head rail and a fabric panel depending therefrom, by a predetermined trim measurement, by trimming a first length from the head rail, retracting the head rail away from a first side edge of said fabric panel, trimming a second length from the first edge of the fabric panel,; moving the head rail axially relative to the fabric panel so as to retract it from a second side edge of the fabric panel opposite to the first side edge, trimming a third length from the second edge of the fabric panel, and moving the head rail axially relative to the fabric panel whereby to locate it equidistant from the first and the second edges of the fabric panel. Also disclosed is apparatus for trimming such a fabric blind.
Abstract:
A method of an apparatus for cutting segments (10) to desired lengths from a strip (1) of elastomeric tire components having at least one cord reinforced component involves the step of impacting one cord (22) as the cut is being made and lifting the cord (22) to avoid cutting cords (22) while directing the cutting path along the lifted cord(22). The article resulting from the method has a plurality of cords (22) adjacent a flat cut splicing surface (8) suitable for lap splicing.
Abstract:
A cutting apparatus for transverse curtain lath is proposed to cut the curtain materials in transverse direction. The cutting apparatus comprises a station with driving thread rod linked to a driving tenon in the station and driving a cutting board; the cutting board sliding on a cutting surface in front of the station. The station has a feeding table on backside thereof. The driving thread rod is operated by a handle to perform linear operation. The cutting apparatus has simple structure and easy operation.
Abstract:
Method and apparatus for highly reliably cutting a rubber strip (12) even when reinforcement cords are embedded therein, and for shaping the upper surfaces of the trailing end of a resultant rubber band member (15) and the leading end of the remaining rubber strip (12) to have a slope inclined with a small angle relative to the general plane of the rubber snip (12) or rubber band member (15). An anvil (20) and a press cutter/shaper (39) are arranged opposite to each other, and a cutting blade (38) is gradually inserted into an anvil groove (22), with at least one surface (38a, 38) of the blade (38) pressed against a periphery (22a) of the anvil groove (22). The cutting blade (38) protrudes from the boundary between inclined a pair of shaping surfaces (34, 35) towards the anvil 20, and has a cutting blade angle (F) that is smaller than angle (G) between the inclined shaping surfaces (34, 35).
Abstract:
A ticket vending machine includes a face panel defining a ticket passageway and a ticket outlet at one end of the ticket passageway, a side plate mounted with an axle for holding a ticket roll, a sheet-transfer cylinder assembly controlled to transfer the continuous ticket sheet of the ticket roll to the ticket outlet, a cutting unit disposed between the sheet-transfer cylinder assembly and the ticket passageway and controlled to reciprocate a cutting plate and to cut off the continuous ticket sheet.
Abstract:
Shears for cutting belt material, especially corded belts, with a movable upper knife and a stationary lower knife, a discharging conveyor belt and an upstream, pivotable depositing table and a drawing-in device for the belt material, wherein a metal shifting sheet, displaceable in the conveying direction of the belt, is mounted on the depositing table between the depositing table and the belt material.
Abstract:
A method for repairing a flatwire conductor is disclosed. The method includes aligning a cutting tool along the flatwire conductor at a first cut zone, cutting the flatwire along a transverse axis of the flatwire within the first cut zone, removing the cutting tool from the flatwire, aligning the cutting tool along the flatwire at a second cut zone, cutting the flatwire within the second cut zone, and removing the cutting tool and flatwire attached thereto to allow for replacement of the flatwire.
