    摘要: A process for manufacturing tyres for vehicle wheels, comprising the step of building on a forming support a carcass structure comprising at least one carcass ply and, at at least one end edge of the carcass ply, at least one annular anchoring structure comprising at least one substantially circumferential annular insert and at least one filling insert associated to said at least one substantially circumferential annular insert. The step of building the carcass structure comprises the steps of positioning the annular anchoring structure on the carcass ply by moving the annular substantially circumferential insert into contact with an end edge of the carcass ply by means of a special positioning member, pulling down the filling insert on the end edge of the carcass ply and turning up a free end portion of the end edge of the carcass ply so as to form a turned up end portion of the carcass ply including said annular anchoring structure. The pulling down of the filling insert on the end edge of the carcass ply is carried out by a special pulling down member while the substantially circumferential annular insert is retained into a contact position with the end edge of the carcass ply by said positioning member.

In a retracted state, the first set of even deck plates 42 moves radially inward of the second set of odd deck plates 44, the first set 42 underlying the second set 44.

A drum has an expansion device that is configured to turn-up the lateral ends of the tire carcass about respective bead-and-apex assemblies while generally maintaining a constant orientation of the bead-and-apex assemblies. Further, the expansion device turns-up the lateral ends of the tire carcass while at the same time radially expanding the tire carcass. The methods entail turning-up the lateral ends of the tire carcass around the bead-and-apex assemblies and also moving a portion of the tire carcass lying between the bead-and-apex assemblies in a radially-outward direction relative to an axis of rotation of the drum.

    摘要: The “Anti-Flex Assembly” is an assembly for maintaining axial stability in a rotatable, expandable and collapsible drum used in tire manufacturing. A cylindrical rod with at least one helical groove is defined in the outer surface of the cylindrical rod and at least one hardened dowel is aligned so as to protrude into the helical groove of the cylindrical rod. A means to maintain the orientation and protrusion of the hardened dowel protruding into the helical groove(s), and a clamping lock is provided to lock the cylindrical rod in place once the desired width of the rotatable, expandable and collapsible drum has been set, thus providing axial stability of the rotatable, expandable and collapsible drum during tire carcass manufacturing.

In order to produce a device for turning up a tyre-building part on a tyre-building drum, by means of which the tyre-building part is turned up without defects, in particular an unintended crease formation in the lateral wall, according to the invention the roller lever (5) comprises a lifting roller (7) on the side thereof directed towards the drum axis (3) of the tyre-building drum (2), opposite which a ramp-shaped component (12) is arranged. As the tyre-building part (1) is turned up, the roller lever (5) is raised by means of the lifting roller (7) to a pre-position, wherein, as the roller lever (5) is lifted to the pre-position, the crimping roller (6) is spaced in such a way that the crimping roller (6) is substantially exclusively in contact with the tyre-building part (1) and the roller rolls along the tyre-building part (6).
