Abstract:
An embodiment of the present invention discloses a method and a machine for realising containers (900), comprising at least steps of: impressing a shape in relief on a sheet (905) of deformable material, enveloping the sheet about itself and reciprocally joining lateral flaps thereof in order to form a tubular blank (915), and closing a bottom end of the tubular blank.
Abstract:
Hinge-lid boxes for cigarettes, comprising a box part (12) and lid (13), are frequently fitted with a closure aid for the lid (13). Said closure aid comprises interlocking elements which can be brought into engagement with one another, namely a lid inner tab (16), on the one hand, and a collar front wall (17), on the other hand. In order to ensure operativeness as soon as the pack is used, it is ensured that the closure aid is already in engagement when the pack is completed, i.e. before it is used for the first time. For this purpose, the lid (13) is partially opened after being substantially completed and is then moved into the closed position again thereby ensuring engagement of the closing elements.
Abstract:
A packaging machine in which packages are erected on mandrels of a rotating wheel and the crease lines of the bottom elements of the packages are successively creased, heated, folded and sealed; the heating being carried out by a heated gas which is directed by deflector means against the thermoplastic lining of the package and into the corners of the erected package.
Abstract:
An overwrap container includes a base container having a first side seam on a side wall that extends along a longitudinal axis to define an internal volume, and a bottom connected to the side wall. An overwrap is positioned over the side wall of the base container and has a second side seam aligned longitudinally with the first side seam. Connecting elements are positioned between the side wall of the base container and the overwrap, and join the side wall of the base container and the overwrap together except in an area along the aligned first and second seams to define an uniform spacing extending continuously between the side wall and the overwrap forming an air gap there between.
Abstract:
Methods for making multi-walled containers from a single blank, preferably using a continuous process approach, and the resulting containers are disclosed. Various embodiments of the invention include, alone or in combination, intermediate panels formed from flap precursors that are in- or out-folded such that their distal ends are in proximate relationship to each other; outer flaps sized to overlap exposed edges of a container formed from the blank; stress relief features a joint corners to reduce stresses thereat. Methods for making select containers of the invention include folding and adhering the flap precursors to an inner panel, up-folding the inner panel/intermediate panel combination about a mandrel, and continuing to up-fold the outer panel until a container having a “use” position as a resting position is formed.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a simple apparatus and method for automatically sealing pliable containers, particularly plasticcoated paper-base containers, by consecutively partially prefolding inwardly at least one end of the container by use of movable folding means comprised of converging crimping and spanking elements and sealing at least one of said crimped ends by compressing said end between a movable anvil and a stationary sealing head, the latter having a face comprised of a pressure land and a plurality of elevated sealing ribs superimposed thereon so as to apply a uniform sealing force to predetermined positions in the interior of the container end while simultaneously applying a continuous pressure to the interior folds of said container end. The sealing head also provides a means for uniformly and positively aligning the container thereon.
