摘要： A system for forming a pressware product comprises rollers, a scoring tool, a scoring station actuator, a forming tool, and a forming station actuator. The rollers pull the web along a path having an angle. The scoring tool receives the material from the rollers and includes a vertically shiftable scoring punch with an edge that extends about an outline of the pressware product and a striker plate. The scoring station actuator shifts the scoring tool to form a slot in the web. The forming tool receives the scored web and includes a vertically shiftable positive mold assembly and negative mold assembly. The forming station actuator shifts the positive mold assembly to press against the web and form the pressware product.

The main components of the system include a staging area, an elevator area, a safety door positioned therebetween, and a carriage movable therebetween when the safety door is in the open position. The elevator has a right side wall a left side wall and an elevator platform. The platform is vertically moveable between a lowered position and a predetermined height. In the lowered position the elevator platform is below the height of the carriage. The walls each define a plurality of support finger housings, each of which contain an extendable support finger. When the elevator platform is in the lowered position each support finger is retracted and contained entirely within its housing. When the elevator reaches a predetermined height each support finger is extended.

The line includes a conveyor unit including a belt and a conveyor actuator that drives the belt intermittently in an alternating sequence of movements and stops. A feed unit individually feeds covering blanks from a reservoir to the conveyor unit in a sequence of feed instants. An erecting machine folds box blanks into corresponding boxes. A positioner individually positions the boxes from the erecting machine, in alignment on corresponding covering blanks disposed on the belt of the conveyor unit. A gluer spreads glue on one face of the covering blanks. A covering machine folds the covering blanks into contact with their respective boxes to cover the boxes. A control unit connected to the feed unit adjustably sets a phase displacement of the feed instants relative to the sequence of stops of the belt.

摘要： Feedstock is delivered perpendicular to the line of applied glue in an automated gluing machine, thereby simplifying operation and better accommodating other in-line factory or assembly processes. The machine comprises an input nip for receiving the head end and the tail end of a sheet stock in overlapping registration, with the tail end being longer than the head end. A clamp mechanism holds the overlapping sheet stock in position while a glue applicator applies glue to one side of the tail end. An output nip holds the glued side of the tail end against the head end, and apparatus is provided for ejecting the sheet stock once the tail end has been glued to the head end. The glued stock may be ejected back toward the operator or away from the operator and through the machine, enabling the machine to be placed in-line with other machines for a continuous directional or linear flow.
