摘要： An apparatus and method for the vacuum assisted bonding of sections of corrugated cardboard and for manufacturing corrugated cardboard. A pressure plate has a bore for applying a vacuum therethrough. A first section of corrugated cardboard has an orifice which is aligned with the bore in the pressure plate. Adhesive is applied between the first section of corrugated cardboard and a second section of corrugated cardboard and the second section is placed adjacent to the first section away from the pressure plate. A vacuum is applied through the bore in the pressure plate and orifice in the first sections to cause the first and second sections to be drawn and adhered together. In the manufacture of corrugated cardboard, vacuum and optionally hot air are applied to opposite edges of the sandwiched core of fluted linerboard with adhesive and overlaying flat linerboard to draw them together to form the corrugated cardboard.

摘要： A device for the production of one-sided corrugated paperboard with two corrugated rollers which corrugate a paper sheet. A glue mechanism for applying glue onto the corrugated paper sheet has a glue applying roller cooperating with a corrugated roller, a glue dosing element and a glue container. A pressing roller presses a cover sheet against the coated, corrugated paper sheet. Chambers are constructed on both sides of the glue applying roller. The chambers are sealed off, with their first edges against the first corrugated roller or the pressing roller and, with their other edges, are sealed off against the glue mechanism. The chambers have connections for high pressure sources, in order to press, by means of high pressure the corrugated sheet against the corrugated roller. Both edges of the pressure chambers sealing off against the glue mechanism cooperate with surfaces of the glue mechanism which do not convey any glue to the corrugated roller.

摘要： A single facer machine of the vacuum or fingerless type for making a corrugated paperboard laminate. A new means for applying vacuum to the paperboard on the second corrugator roll. The second corrugator roll is provided with axially spaced circumferential grooves, the grooves being deeper than the flutes on the roll. Each groove is provided with a vacuum finger, coupled to a source of vacuum, each vacuum finger being curved at its intake mouth which sealingly engages the sides of its respective groove to supply vacuum thereto. The angular extent of the curved intake mouth is supplementary to the angular extent of engagement of the corrugated paperboard with the second corrugator roll.

摘要： An improved web guide structure of the self-adjusting type for a corrugated web single-facer machine including a plurality of laterally spaced guides for continuously and yieldably urging a corrugated medium web against a lower corrugator roller, a support rigidly mounted to the single-facer for pivotally supporting the guides, and a gravity-actuated and adjustable biasing means for urging the guides against the corrugated web at preselected pressures. The guides preferably include a trailing guide portion that remains in engagement with an adhesive applicator roll when the roll is moved out of engagement with the corrugated web to maintain alignment of the guides with the roll. Springs may also be used in conjunction with the support to apply greater or lesser pressure to all of the guides simultaneously.The method includes applying pressure at selected lateral locations across the width of the corrugated web, such pressure being yieldably applied to each of the guides by an elastic member or by gravity-actuated counter-weights.

摘要： A corrugating roller, for the manufacture of corrugated cardboard, has a rotation axis and a corrugation. The corrugation has corrugation peaks and corrugation troughs as well as corrugation flanks, which connect the corrugation peaks and the corrugation troughs with each other. The corrugating roller has an air discharge device with an air collection groove, which is open outwardly in a radial direction, runs at least section-wise around the rotation axis, intersects at least some of the corrugation peaks and is limited by a first and a second side wall, which face each other. The air discharge device has an air connection channel, which extends from the side walls of the air collection groove, and an air suction channel, which is in flow connection with the air connection channel and can be subjected to negative pressure.
