    摘要: A method and a device are provided for fastening a printing plate to a plate cylinder of a rotary printing machine. The printing plate has first and second ends to be accommodated in a clamping gap in a circumferential surface of the plate cylinder at least approximately parallel to an axis of rotation of the plate cylinder. The first end is inserted into the clamping gap. An edge of the printing plate is bent over in a region of the first end at an edge of the clamping gap. The printing plate is wound onto the circumferential surface until the second end comes to lie over the clamping gap. The second end is pressed into the clamping gap and deforms the printing plate so that the second end blocks the first end in the clamping gap.

    摘要: A plurality of circumferentially extending mounting recesses are formed in a cylinder assembly and arcuate saddle members having marking means, such as print type, on their outside surface are mounted in the recesses. Each saddle member has a locking recess formed in its inside surface with a pair of spaced apart, flexible locking wires extending therethrough. Mounting studs having a mounting head with a relatively narrow neck portion are affixed to the cylinder within the mounting recesses. The saddle members may be mounted within the mounting recesses by snap-on engagement of the mounting head with the locking wires, and readily removed by snap-off disengagement of the head with the wires. The saddle members may thus be readily replaced and interchanged by means of the snap-on, snap-off mounting and demounting.

    摘要: A plate cylinder adapted for a rotary printing press has a cylinder jacket and a recess followed by a clamping channel which extend at least approximately parallel to the rotational axis of the plate cylinder inside the cylinder jacket. The printing plate has a leading end and a trailing end which are both secured inside the recess. A trailing end region of the printing plate includes two parallel bent edges extending transverse to the rotational direction of the plate cylinder. One bent edge is formed by a section of printing plate fitting against the cylinder jacket and another section of the printing plate that projects into the clamping channel which together enclose approximately a right angle. The other bent edge is formed by the section of printing plate projecting into the clamping channel and an end section of the printing plate extending through the clamping channel.

    摘要: A "no-lock" printing plate assembly including a plate cylinder having a smooth plate supporting surface interrupted by a narrow axial groove having parallel side walls terminating in leading and trailing edges to form a gap, the side wall adjacent the leading edge presenting a flat angularly undercut end face. A single register pin is rigidly anchored perpendicular to the undercut end face. The plate is formed of a thin sheet of resilient material having a first bend at each end spaced from the leading and trailing edges of the plate to define respective leading and trailing edge portions. The leading and trailing edge portions have alined notches dimensioned to register with the pin. The edge portions are spaced and dimensioned for insertion into the gap into a condition in which the first bends are peripherally spaced from one another to provide clearance between them. At least one of the edge portions of the plate has an acute second bend parallel to the first bend and spaced a short distance therefrom to provide a reversely bent lip of a width greater than the width of the groove sprung outwardly to form a resilient bridge between the side walls of the groove for frictional engagement. A second cylinder running in contact with the plate cylinder "irons" the plate into intimate engagement with the plate cylinder, cyclically renewing a vacuum seal between them.
