    摘要: A thermal head which is capable of reducing heat concentration on heat generation portions, and a thermal printer provided with the thermal head are provided. A thermal head includes a substrate; a plurality of heat generation portions which are disposed aligned on the substrate; electrodes which are electrically connected to the heat generation portions; and a protection layer which coats the heat generation portions and a part of the respective electrodes. The protection layer includes a first protection layer which is disposed on the heat generation portions and a second protection layer which is disposed on the first protection layer and has a higher thermal conductivity than that of the first protection layer. A width of the second protection layer is larger than that of the first protection layer when seen in an arrangement direction of the heat generation portions.

    摘要: A heating head with not so long heating elements to be connected, being adaptable to long and two-dimensional media. On one surface of a rectangular head substrate having long and short sides, a strip-like heating element is provided continuously from end to end of the substrate along the long side thereof. A pair of electrode connecting portions including the same material as that of the heating element and extending along the short sides of the substrate is provided at both ends of the heating element. A pair of electrodes is formed on one surface of the substrate between the heating element and a side edge of the long side at the electrode connecting portion side, so as to be partially overlapping with the electrode connecting portions, respectively, thereby effecting electrical connection, and a substrate temperature control means is provided.

    摘要: A thermal printhead includes a substrate, a resistor layer formed on the substrate, an electrode layer formed on the substrate and electrically connected to the resistor layer, and an insulating layer. The electrode layer includes a first electrically conductive portion and a second electrically conductive portion spaced apart from each other. The resistor layer includes a heater portion that bridges the first electrically conductive portion and the second electrically conductive portion as viewed in the thickness direction of the substrate. The insulating layer includes a portion positioned between the electrode layer and the heater portion. This arrangement reduces formation of a eutectic region between the heater portion and the electrode layer.

    摘要: A thermal head includes a substrate main body including a flat plate-shaped support substrate and a flat plate-shaped upper substrate which are bonded to each other in a stacked state. A rectangular heating resistor is formed on a surface of the flat plate-shaped upper substrate. A bonding surface of the flat plate-shaped support substrate includes a concave portion that forms a cavity portion in a region opposed to the rectangular heating resistor and the concave portion includes a groove formed in an inner wall thereof and recessed along a depth direction of the concave portion within a range of a width of the rectangular heating resistor. The thermal head is capable of enhancing heat-insulating performance while maintaining mechanical strength of the upper substrate.

    摘要: A stencil is made by thermally forming perforations arranged in both a main scanning direction and a sub-scanning direction in a thermoplastic resin film of heat-sensitive stencil material by the use of a heat source which is heated through supply of energy. Supply of energy to the heat source is cut when a time interval not shorter than 50% and not longer than 100% of an estimated perforating time lapses from the time at which supply of energy to the heat source is started. The estimated perforating time is a time interval expected to be necessary for a perforation to be produced by the heat of the heat source and to be enlarged to a desired size as a final size as measured from the time at which supply of energy to the heat source is started.
