    摘要: A thermal printer includes a platen roller, a thermal head, a head support plate, a frame including a platen roller support portion, a turn support portion configured to support the head support plate, and an urging member configured to urge the head support plate in a direction in which the thermal head approaches the platen roller. The thermal head is fixed to an opposed surface of the head support plate, which is in a first region located on one side with respect to the turn support portion, and is opposed to the platen roller in the first direction. The urging member is interposed between the opposed surface of the head support plate in a second region, which is located on another side with respect to the turn support portion and an urging member support portion of the frame.

    摘要: A printing unit includes a thermal head, a platen roller, a head support member and a guide member. The platen roller is abutted against the thermal head with the recording sheet therebetween and rotated to feed the recording sheet. The head support member pivotably supports the thermal head around a pivot shaft so as to move the thermal head toward the platen roller. The head frame pivotably supports the head support member via the pivot shaft and rotatably supports the platen roller. The guide member guides the recording sheet between the thermal head and the platen roller. The thermal head and the guide member are positioned with respect to the head frame through the pivot shaft.

    摘要: An ultraviolet (UV) radiation resistance enhanced printing process uses a thermally migratable ultraviolet radiation absorber applied to a substrate to form a surface protection layer for images within the substrate. A hydrophobic thermally migratable ultraviolet radiation absorber may be applied to a transfer media prior to image transfer or as part of imaging the substrate. The application of the radiation absorber to the transfer media may be delivered digitally, either by inks comprising both sublimable colorants and the radiation absorber, or by inks comprising the radiation absorber.
