Abstract: Information boards include a graphic layer and a transparent or translucent dry erase writing surface. The information boards include one or more non-permanent attachment mechanisms that allow for selective removal and replacement of the graphic layer. Additionally, the information boards can optionally include a magnetically attractable layer positioned behind the graphic layer. The magnetically attractable layer can allow for the attachment of notes or other objects to the dry erase writing surface via a magnet. One will appreciate that implementations of the present invention are particularly suited for use in homes, schools, hospitals, businesses, and other locations where removing and replacing a graphic layer in a dry erase board may be desired.

Abstract: An educational tool is provided that allows for multi-sensory utilization to promote learning in a student. The educational tool consists of a learning board having a plurality of sides whereby at least one side comprising a textured characteristic thereon to allow for tactile and kinesthetic manipulation of the board. Additionally, the present invention also utilizes a learning board having at least a second side having a substantially smooth surface whereby the smooth surface would serve to visually stimulate and allow for promotion of responses to the textured side of the board by the student.

Abstract: An erasable graphic panel includes a substrate having a dark surface, a translucent film overlying the substrate and adapted upon application of pressure from a pointed implement to adhere locally to the substrate and thereby produced a visible trace of movement of the pointed implement upon the film. Abstract: Disclosed is a note card assembly that is watertight, yet accessible to remove a completed note card. In one embodiment the assembly has a generally rectangular shape in plan view and comprises a watertight envelope having an interior pocket defined by permanent seals on three sides and a resealable seal on the fourth side. A subassembly inside the pocket includes a layered sandwich of a rigid writing board, a note card having a CF coated top surface, and a transparent sheet having a CB coated bottom surface in contact with the top surface of the note card. When pressure is applied to the outer envelope, a chemical reaction takes place between the two coated layers leaving a permanent marking on the top surface of the note card.

Abstract: A drawing device adapted to produce line drawings or sketches on a transparent screen on top of a case partly filled with a powder that adheres slightly to the undersurface of the screen to render it opaque. Disposed within the case are transverse and longitudinal rods operatively coupled to respective control knobs, one of which, when turned, causes the longitudinal rod to shift toward either side of the case, the other of which, when turned causes the transverse rod to shift to either end of the case. Supported at the intersection of the rods is an indexable stylus turret and carrier assembly whose carrier is slidably supported on the transverse rod and whose stylus turret which is received within the carrier, is slidably supported on the longitudinal rod whereby the position occupied by the assembly is determined by the point of intersection. The turret is indexable to present to the underside of the screen, for scraping powder therefrom to draw a line, any one of three styluses each producing a line of different width or character or to present a blank stylus which interrupts the drawn line. Indexing is effected by pressing an actuator bar operatively coupled to the longitudinal rod carrying the turret to depress this rod and to cause a turret pin to engage an abutment in the carrier, this action causing the turret to index to its next operative position.

Abstract: An electrostatic image display apparatus which uses piezoelectric film to enable a user to form images on a screen. The apparatus is contained within a housing. Supported within the housing is a common electrode. A layer of piezoelectric film is separated a distance from the common electrode by a suspension medium. The suspension medium contains electrially charged pigmented particles, the color of which contrasts with the color of the suspension medium. The housing has an opening for applying localized pressure to one surface of the piezoelectric film. In addition, the apparatus has a source for energizing the common electrode to a preselected electric potential. By applying a force or infrared energy to an area of the piezoelectric film a charge accumules on the inner surface of the film, directly under the point of application of the force. This charge attracts the electrically charged pigmented particles in the suspension medium which are visible through the film and create an image display.
