    摘要： An ellipsograph comprises an inner toothed horizontal ring gear serving as a support. A diametrically disposed main seat bar is mounted inside of the ring gear and rotatable about the center. A vertical shaft is mounted on the main seat with a revolving arm mounted thereon. A drawing implement such as a pen is slidably mounted on said arm. The main seat bar has a small gear provided on one end of the seat bar to be driven through meshing engagement with the inner teeth of the ring gear. Such movement is transmitted through a series of sprocket and chain trains disposed on the seat bar to the vertical shaft having the revolving arm. The track of the writing implement forms an ellipse when the seat bar is caused to rotate one revolution upon the ring gear.

    摘要： A drawing apparatus is provided having a housing, a rotating mechanism and a drawing mechanism. The housing has a circumferential ring gear located within an interior portion of the housing. The rotating mechanism is rotatably mounted within the housing and has a motor operatively connected to a drive gear. The drive gear rotates about a drive axis and is positioned for engagement with the ring gear. The drawing mechanism is pivotally mounted on the rotating mechanism, and has a drawing implement holder connected to the drive gear by a connector. The connector is mounted to a portion of the drive gear that is spaced away from the drive axis. Upon rotation of the rotating mechanism with respect to the housing, the drawing implement holder mechanism pivots with respect to the rotating mechanism. Also provided is a method of drawing using such drawing apparatus.

    摘要： A horizontal rotary table is provided and a mounting arm is supported above the table and generally parallels the latter. The arm extends along a path paralleling an axis of rotation of the table and an upright shaft is journalled from the mounting arm for rotation about an upright axis coinciding with the axis of rotation of the table. Drive structure drivingly connects the table and the upright shaft for rotation of the latter at twice the speed of rotation of the table and a support is mounted on the support arm for guided movement therealong. A scribe tool is carried by the support for engagement with and scribing a workpiece disposed on the table for rotation with the latter and motion converting and drive structure is operatively connected between the upright shaft and the support for effecting oscillation of the support along the arm responsive to and an in timed relation with rotation of the shaft. The motion converting and drive structure includes operational features which function to continuously vary the linear displacement rate of the support along the arm during constant angular velocity of the upright shaft.
