摘要: The invention concerns a method for removing resp. renovating a layer resp. coating (4) from a surface (2) covered with the coating (4), wherein the coating (4) to be removed comprises a hazardous material. According to the method, a working step, which produces dust, such as in particular a grinding or sanding, is performed only on, resp. in a portion of, the surface, which has been coated with at least one newly applied priming coat layer (26). In a first aspect, the method comprises: (i) pre-treating the coating (4) to be removed resp. renovated, so that at least a portion of the coating is transformed into a moist resp. viscous state, (ii) removing portions (10) of the coating (4), which have been affected by the pre-treatment of step (i) at least in sub-areas of the portions, where the pre-treatment of step (i) has been applied, so that exposed parts of the surface are formed at least in these sub-areas, and (iii) applying, without performing an intermediate grinding beforehand, at least one priming coat layer (26) at least in sub-areas of the exposed parts (22) of the surface formed in step (ii). In a second aspect, a working step, which produces dust, such as in particular a grinding or sanding, is performed only on, resp. in a portion of the surface, which has been coated with at least one newly applied priming coat layer (26). In a third aspect, at least a portion of the coating (4) comprising the hazardous material is transformed into a moist resp. viscous state and is relieved resp. removed from the surface (2) without generating dust and/or flour. In a fourth aspect, remainders (20) of the coating (4) to be removed resp. renovated, which remain, after a step of relieving resp. removing loose resp. viscous portions of the coating from the surface (2) without generating dust, in recesses, e.g. holes and pores, extending deeper into the otherwise substantially exposed surface (22), are covered resp. masked. In a fifth aspect, remainders of the coating (4) to be removed resp. renovated, which remain attached to the surface (2) after a step of relieving resp. removing loose resp. viscous portions of the coating from the surface without generating dust, are covered resp. masked, e.g. by applying an impregnating agent (24) and/or a priming coat layer (26) onto the otherwise substantially exposed portions of the surface (2).

摘要: A method of removing a coating, such as paint, varnish, biological growth or grime, from a surface, the method comprising selecting a suitable particulate solid having a particular, size of from 150-250 mm and a fluid carrier to form a spray mixture and spraying the mixture as a jet spray so as to impact and at least partially remove the coating. The hardness of the particulate solid is less than 8.0 on the Moh scale. The pressure applied to the spray mixture to generate the spray is from 3.sub.×10.sup.5 to 1.5.sub.×10.sup.6 Nm.sup.−2. An apparatus comprising a blasting pot (1) and a compressor (2) to generate the spray mixture and propel it from a nozzle (5) is also disclosed. Heating may be applied to the carrier, either prior to or when mixing with the particulate solid.

摘要: A method of stripping coating from a portion of a coated surface of a component. The method includes fastening a mask sheet to the component over a region adjacent the portion of the coated surface. The mask sheet has a contour generally corresponding to a contour of the surface of the component. A high pressure fluid jet is sprayed from a spray head toward the portion of the coated surface after the mask sheet is fastened to the component to strip the coating from the portion of the surface. After the coating is stripped from the portion of the surface, the mask sheet is removed from the component.
