    Abstract: A vehicle wheel traction assembly for use in freeing a stuck vehicle includes a plate having a plurality of ridges engaged thereto and extending from a first face thereof. A second face of the plate can be positioned upon a surface proximate to a drive wheel of a vehicle to increase traction of the drive wheel relative to that of the drive wheel directly upon the surface. A handle is engaged by a pivot pin to the second face of the plate proximate to a first end thereof. The pivot pin is biased toward a first terminus of the handle. The handle is rotatable between a deployed configuration, wherein a second terminus of the handle is positioned distal from the plate, and a stowed configuration, wherein the handle extends between the first end and a second end of the plate.

    Abstract: The present invention is directed to a vehicle recovery board having a rectangular body with a flat topside surface and an inclined front portion of the underside surface. The flat topside surface does not have a ramp front section. The flat topside surface provides a surface at a constant angle to allow a tire to move on and along without providing an initial steep slope to gain traction. The vehicle recovery board also includes features that improve tire traction and dislodge water, sand and other material from the tread of tires. The vehicle recovery board of the present invention also has ground engagement teeth on the underside of the board to reduce slippage of the board during use.

    Abstract: A lightweight vehicle ladder for the recovery and traction of vehicles includes a central recessed portion (48) bordered by longitudinal strengthening ribs (56) and ramps (55) at either end. A plurality of traction members (52), each of which terminates in an upper tire engagement member (54) are disposed within the recessed portion and thereby somewhat protected from the ingress of mud during use in order that traction may be maintained. The underside and topside of the vehicle are formed with complementary shapes in order that a number of the ladders may be stacked one on top of the other to form a laminate of increased strength for application with particularly heavy vehicles.

    Abstract: An auxiliary braking device includes a plurality of arcuate housings provided with a plurality of respective sleeves. The housings have an open end portion disposed in front of the vehicle tires. A plurality of flexible chain pads are included that have a plurality of interlocked rings. The chain pads have a width greater than a width of the tires and are stored within the housing sleeves. The present invention further includes a plurality of elongated flexible arms having a plurality of first end portions secured to the chain pads and a plurality of second end portions. A mechanism is included for releasing the chain pads from the open end portions of the housings while the vehicle is in motion. The releasing mechanism is connected to the second end portions of the arms.

    Abstract: A traction enhancing mat allowing a user to get their vehicle unstuck without requiring assistance from an outside source. The traction enhancing mat includes a first panel member that has plurality of upwardly extending ridges such that the ridges are adapted for enhancing traction of the tire of the vehicle in a rut. A second panel is coupled to the first panel such that the second panel is adapted for providing traction to the tire when the tire is out of the rut.
