摘要:
A buoyancy compensator having a locking system (27) that ensures the ballast (25) not to drop unexpectedly during diving and to removable by one hand of a scuba diver. The locking system (27) includes a releasing unit (30), a female locking unit (50) and a male locking unit (70). The releasing unit includes a turn leg (32) that is to be interposed between the female locking unit and the male locking unit. When the turn leg is forcedly turned at a certain angle clockwise or counterclockwise, an engagement of the male locking unit to the female locking unit is released.

A modular expandable weighting system for recreational and professional underwater divers that permits a user to selectively attach one or more individual weight units to each other to achieve a desired amount of weight to regulate the user's overall buoyancy while under water. When used with a weight belt, the weights when attached create channels through which a weight belt may be disposed. If two or less weights are attached, end caps may be attached to create the channels to allow the system to be attached to the weight belt. When used without a weight belt, such as on a buoyancy compensator device with multiple weight pockets, the weight system allows for the placement of exact amounts of weights to achieve the desired amount of overall buoyancy as well as to maintain the desired degree of horizontal trim.

A weight system for divers employs both an interior and an exterior weight pocket. The interior weight pocket is secured at the interior distal end of the exterior weight pocket. The attachment point is a post at the interior end of the weight pocket. The weight pouch hangs from this post and is secured in the exterior weight pocket. The release force is more precisely controlled with a coil spring. More control of the opening force translates to reliability of operation and safety of the weight releasing mechanism. The weight pouch is also more precisely guided into and out of the exterior weight pocket and the lock mechanism is self-centering, allowing easy assembly or disassembly of the weight pouch into and out of the exterior weight pocket.

An embodiment of a weight system for use with a buoyancy compensator device includes a rigid plate, a weight pouch attached to the rigid plate, and an indicator device fixedly interfaced with the rigid plate. The indicator device further includes a freely moving floatation device that floats within a restrained range upward from the rigid plate in response to the weight pouch being separate from the buoyancy compensator device.

A counterweight assembly is provided to enhance heads up surface positioning of a person. The assembly includes a weight/ballast member strategically disposed on a cylinder/tank worn by a diver during a dive. The weight member can be attached by several different embodiments. Preferably, the weight member is attached such that the diver cannot release or adjust the weight member while he or she is diving. The weight member rotates the person to ensure heads up surface positioning in the event the person becomes incapacitated. Also provided are several other water safety and survival devices.

A diving weight apparatus has a solid, body with a curved outer conformation. An elongated aperture extends through the body between a front and a back surfaces. The elongated aperture is large enough to accept two fingers of a person's hand therein when the two fingers are arranged in side-by-side positions. A pouch accepts the body and is likewise curved. A diving vest accepts the pouch an is likewise curved.

An environmentally friendly weight block for diver's weight belt is disclosed to include a weight formed of a lead block made in the shape of an English letter and coated with a layer of anti-corrosion plastic coating, and a clip or belt loop affixed to the back side of the weight for fastening to a diver's weight belt.

A belt is provided for use during exercise and/or muscle training. The belt comprises a spine, a strap, a securing ring and a weighted source. The belt may have a permanent weighted source, a removable weighted source or both. The weight(s) are located within the spine and/or within pockets located on the spine. The strap surrounds the spine and allows the user to secure the belt to him or herself. Preferably, the strap is secured by hook and loop fasteners. The weighted belt allows the user to specifically distribute the weight along the belt for the stabilization, growth and/or memory of the user's muscles. The belt is suitable for use during, for example, exercise, weight training, muscle memory training, physical therapy and other activities.

The non-slip ballast is cast from the non-slip mold with more than two webbing material receiving passage's side by each, parallel and in a row perpendicular to the belting material. The webbing material is inserted into and through one end passageway of the ballast. The belting material is then turned 180 degrees toward the weight and inserted into and through the second in a sequence passageway, which returns the belting to the side of the ballast of the first entry. The belting is then turned 180 degrees and inserted and passed through the third passageway which forms 360 degrees of ballast to belting resistance. The belting is then turned 180 degrees toward the non-slip weight and inserted and passed through the forth and last passage way of the ballast to join the side of first entry of a four-slotted ballast. This then forms 540 degrees of ballast to belting resistance with weight belt un donned. Weight is easily increased by stacking ballasts and threading belting through more than one ballast per location. The ballasts are woven in plurality until desired total weight on the belt is obtained. To adjust the amount of weight for position on the belting material simply feed the belting material through the passageways until the desired ballast location is achieved.
