摘要： A machine for filling a tertiary container with secondary containers is provided. The machine includes a frame and a tray loading station positioned to receive a plurality of streams of the secondary containers. The machine also includes a front gate at an upstream end of the tray loading station, the front gate moveable between a first position, in which the secondary containers are obstructed from passing downstream, and a second position, in which the secondary containers are not obstructed. The machine further includes a back stop proximate a downstream end of the tray loading station, the back stop moveable between a first, upstream position and a second, downstream position. The tray loading station is sized such that when a first row of secondary containers is positioned against the back stop in the first position, a portion of an upstream row of secondary containers is positioned directly above the front gate.

摘要： A system and method for packaging oriented containers in a container carrier wherein a plurality of containers are fed into an orientation wheel including one or more chucks. Each chuck engages one end of the container and rotates the container into an oriented position. A transfer belt having a plurality of tactile fingers is operatively connected to the orientation wheel and transfers an oriented container nested within the tactile fingers in a fixed rotational position from the orientation wheel to a packaging machine. In a method of packaging containers according to this invention, multiple containers are positioned within the carrier in one or more rotational positions based upon the desired appearance of the package.

摘要： A pneumatic bottle stop for a case packer is presented. Fundamentally, the bottle stop consists of a cylinder associated with each lane of a case packer. A piston of each cylinder extends into the lane for making contacting engagement with oncoming bottles or articles. The bottles compress the piston into the cylinder, expelling air therefrom through an adjustable orifice of an associated quick dump valve. The pistons are extended by the application of exhaust air derived from a head control cylinder when the piston of that cylinder is drawn to position skid bars in the head to receive oncoming bottles. A bleeder valve is provided such that the cylinders associated with each lane are maintained at atmospheric pressure after extension of the associated pistons.

摘要： Apparatus for packing bottles in cases wherein bottles are marshalled in two parallel lines with a case conveyor between the bottle lines. A bottle transfer mechanism straddles the bottle lines and case conveyor, the transfer mechanism having at least one, and preferably more than one, bottle lifting head for each bottle line. The transfer mechanism operates the lifting heads in tandem so that while one head is lowering bottles into a case, the other head is lowering to grasp bottles on a conveyor line. The lifting heads alternate in picking up bottles from the conveyor line and depositing them in cases.The apparatus includes a roller chain conveyor mechanism to provide assurance of gentle handling of the bottles. The apparatus also includes a mechanism for forming plural lanes of bottles from a single file supply of bottles.
