The A-frame picking system includes a central computer and a plurality of frames and their controllers, each frame including a plurality of items in dispensers with approximately vertical stacks. Each frame preferably also has a conveyor for transporting items dispensed from the dispensers into totes for filling the orders. Each tote has a unique identity and information storage medium, as well as an interface for communicating with the central computer and the frame controllers. The medium may be an RFID tag, a computer chip with an interface, or a two-dimensional or stacked barcode that contains the tote identification and the required list of items.

    摘要: An object-sorting system has a conveyor having a horizontally extending stretch, a plurality of pushers fixed on and spaced along the conveyor and extending upward from the stretch thereof, and an upright chute adapted to hold a stack of objects and having a downwardly open outlet spaced above an upstream end of the conveyor stretch. An elongated support surface extends horizontally above the stretch and has an upstream end below the outlet port. A drive advances the stretch and thereby displaces the pushers downstream past the outlet so that the pushers engage at least a lowermost object of the stack in the chute and move the engaged object(s) downstream along the support surface. The support surface can pivot about an axis at the support-surface downstream end and thereby change a vertical spacing between the support surface upstream end and the outlet port.

Each destacking screw comprises a helix that may be a helical recess in an outer surface of the screw. The two destacking screws may have an identical direction of rotation. In one embodiment, the helix of each of the at least two destacking screws may grip and guide a respective side of a tray flange of the tray at a first contact point at the outer edge of the helix's upper side, and a second contact point at the outer edge of the helix's lower side.     摘要: A vacuum beam product dispenser and singulator to dispense and singulate "soft" products in an automated order dispensing system (AOS) is comprised of a product cartridge and an inclined conveyor belt. The conveyor belt picks the products from the bottom of the cartridge using a vacuum control element and carries it up the conveyor until it reaches a pinch roller that holds the product ready to be dispensed to a central conveyor of the AOS. Products are picked from the product cartridge by the inclined conveyor in an unbalanced position such that a product will fall off the conveyor unless held by a vacuum generated by the vacuum control element. Thus, random multiples removed from the cartridge with the picked product fall off the conveyor. The product stream from the hopper is thereby singulated.

The main supply of articles is disposed in a stack over an article introducing position. First conveying means moves articles from the article introducing position to a subsequent working station. Second conveying means moves articles into the article introducing position immediately behind said first conveying means to insert an article beneath the stack while maintaining the total number of articles in said stack. That is, the bottommost article in the stack is simply replaced without depleting any of the articles in the stack disposed within the primary or main supply of articles.
