Abstract:
A roll assembly (10) for a fiber-web machine has at least at one end thereof, with a bearing assembly (20) with a bearing housing, which bearing housing (18) has a flexible and attenuating attachment arrangement by means of which the roll can be attached in a flexible and attenuating manner on the frame or foundation (22) of the fiber-web machine. A mass absorber (24) is arranged in conjunction with the bearing housing, whereby the damping of the vibration of the roll assembly is arranged by the cooperation of the bearing housing that is attached in a flexible and attenuating manner and the mass absorber (24) in conjunction therewith. The invention also relates to a method of attenuating the vibration of a roll of a fiber-web machine.
Abstract:
An automated product dispenser for dispensing a product from a supply of product is provided. The automated product dispenser includes a chassis assembly, a drive assembly, and an isolation member. The chassis assembly includes a chassis frame, and the drive assembly includes a motor, a drivetrain, and a drivetrain housing. The isolation member mounts the drive assembly to the chassis assembly such that the drive assembly is substantially spaced apart from the chassis frame. A related method of inhibiting vibration transmission in an automated product dispenser also is provided.

Abstract:
A sheet feeding device including a roller to apply conveying force to one of a plurality of stacked sheets, a separator piece to apply conveying resistance to the stacked sheets and to nip the one of the stacked sheets in cooperation with the roller, a movable member being movable with respect to the roller, a pair of spring arms configured to contact the stacked sheets at an upstream position along a conveying direction with respect to a nipping position between the roller and the separator piece, and a bridge to bridge between the pair of spring arms, is provided. The bridge and the movable member are slidably in contact with each other at least when the sheet feeding device is in a conveyable condition.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for damping vibration in a paper machine. The apparatus having a dynamic damper which includes a weight suspended by a spring. The spring constant of the spring is changed by means of a control device in order to tune the natural frequency of the dynamic damper. The dynamic damper is tuned to a frequency that is substantially equal to a multiple of the rotational frequency of the roll in the paper machine that is being damped.

Abstract:
A sheet separating device having a noise suppressing function is used with an auto document feeder. The sheet separating device includes a sheet separating pad, a sheet separating holder, a resilient element and a noise suppressing element. The sheet separating pad cooperates with a sheet separating roller to separate a paper sheet fed into a sheet-guiding path of the auto document feeder. The sheet separating pad is disposed on the sheet separating holder. The resilient element is sustained against or coupled to the sheet separating holder, so that sheet separating pad disposed on the sheet separating holder is urged against the sheet separating roller. The noise suppressing element is arranged on the sheet separating holder for altering the natural frequency dynamic response of an assembly of the sheet separating pad and the sheet separating holder, thereby shifting the natural frequency dynamic response of the assembly of the sheet separating pad and the sheet separating holder from the working frequency and the harmonic frequency of the sheet separating roller.
