The cable retainer may be a single foldable piece of material. The cable retainer may include a plurality of fingers hingedly coupled to a panel and a plurality of flaps cut from the panel and hingedly coupled to the panel. The fingers may be attached to respective flaps to thereby define passageways through which a wound cable may extend. Methods of packaging wound cables are also discussed.

摘要： A case stores an earphone set proximate to a digital media device (DMD). The case includes a storage compartment for storing the earphone set proximate a rear side of the DMD. The earphone set may be wound onto a retaining clip that is formed to receive ear-pieces of the earphone set and has a pair of notches, disposed on opposite edges of the clip, about which the two wires are wound. A distance between inner segments of the notches is a function of the length of the wires such that an inline control panel and a junction splitter of the earphone set are positioned within a periphery of the retaining clip. The earpieces and a jack plug of the earphone set may be retained by the clip to facilitate retention of the cable and wires.

The carrier has a pair of laterally projecting lobes defining a first storing region and a second storing region. Two or more cords may be simultaneously stored by wrapping on each of the storage regions. Moreover, the handle portion and the base portion enable a user to balance the device against, for example, the user's leg with one arm, which leaves the user's other arm free to wrap an elongated object around one of the storing regions.
