There is further provided an arrangement including one or more elongated objects for hoisting payload, wherein the monitoring apparatus is attached to the elongated objects.

    摘要: In order to examine abnormality in shape of an outer circumference of a wire rope, the rope tester device includes a comb-shaped detection plate having a curved test edge portion extending along at least one portion of an outer circumference of a substantially circular sectional configuration of the wire rope and a testing recessed portion for receiving the wire rope in the vicinity of or in contact with the test edge portion, and a support device for rotatably supporting the detection plate in the vicinity of or in contact with the wire rope for permitting the rotation of the detection plate when the detection plate receives a force from an abnormal portion of the wire rope to relieve the force. A test string is disposed in an opening of the testing recessed portion for testing a surface that is not in the vicinity of or in contact with the test edge portion.

    摘要: An elevator load bearing assembly, such as a polymer cord, reinforced belt, includes at least one element of a ferromagnetic material associated with each cord that comprises one or more non-ferromagnetic materials. The ferromagnetic element is associated with the cord such that a physical characteristic of the ferromagnetic element changes responsive to strain on the non-ferromagnetic fibers. In one example, the ferromagnetic element is a steel wire that breaks in areas that are strained, caused by bending fatigue, for example. Detecting a number of changes (i.e., breaks) in the ferromagnetic element along the length of the load bearing assembly provides an indication of the belt condition.

The controller is configured to direct an alternating current through the transmitter coil resulting in the generation of a magnetic field and eddy currents at the transmitter coil, evaluate fluctuations in the magnetic field detected at the receiver. The fluctuations are indicative of wear or damage to the tension member.

The arrangement for condition monitoring of a rope of a hoisting apparatus according to the present invention, in which rope comprises one or more conductive load bearing member for bearing the load exerted on the rope in longitudinal direction and extending parallel to each other and to the longitudinal direction of the rope, comprises an at least one eddy current testing probe, placed near said rope for generating an alternating magnetic field, said alternating magnetic field causing eddy currents in said rope, and for detecting a secondary magnetic field being generated by said eddy currents in said rope as eddy current detection data, and an on-line monitoring unit receiving and utilizing said eddy current detection data for on-line condition monitoring of said rope.
