    摘要: The mold for producing a perforated body to be used as a friction spinning element comprises a mold body provided with throughpass holes extending between the opposite mold body surfaces. Each of the throughpass holes is filled with a non-conducting material. Thus, there can be simultaneously formed by electroforming at the opposite mold body surfaces two perforated bodies which may be of the same or different thickness. By virtue of the simultaneous fabrication of the two perforated bodies the openings or perforations thereof are exactly in alignment or coincident and, if desired, these two perforated bodies can be secured to one another in superposed orientation to form a composite friction spinning element, such as a friction spinning plate or disc or an endless friction spinning belt or band.

    摘要: A friction spinning apparatus comprises an opening roller system for feeding fibres in a feed duct to the throat formed between the adjacent peripheral surfaces of two parallel drums rotating in the same direction. Yarn formed at the throat, by frictional contact between the fed fibres and the surfaces, is withdrawn along the throat. The fibre feed duct is arranged to feed the fibres in an airstream having a direction inclined to the yarn axis and providing a component of fiber movement opposite to the direction of yarn withdrawal. A suction opening in the duct wall facing away from the drums causes an additional airstream across the duct parallel to the yarn axis to turn the fibres from the direction of inclination to a direction more nearly parallel to the yarn axis as they approach the throat. One of the drums is perforated for suction through its surface, the other is imperforate and formed with a resilient surface of a rubber material.

    摘要: The wall of the friction spinning element has bores or holes with a predeterminate bore diameter and a coating on their side facing a fiber feed duct, the coating extending over the bore edges into the bores. Each bore or hole thus formed has a diameter at the bore or hole entrance or inlet which is smaller than the bore diameter of the related bore or hole. Each bore or hole has a cross-sectional area of less than 0.283 mm.sup.2, but amounting to at least 0.07 mm.sup.2. In this way, the undesirable penetration of fibers or fiber parts into the bores or holes is prevented as far as possible when air flows through the bores or holes at the side of the coating, while retaining a hole form or configuration which is favorable from the standpoint of airflow and blockage of the bores or holes.

    摘要: Fibers delivered in a freely floating state in a fiber transport passage are to be laid in a predetermined disposition on a friction spinning element, such as a friction spinning drum or disc. For this purpose, an opening region of the fiber transport passage is provided with a converging portion in which the airstream is supplementarily accelerated relative to a preceding acceleration. This supplementary acceleration serves to assist in bringing the fibers into the predetermined disposition on the friction spinning drum. The friction spinning device comprises an opening roller which is rotatably supported in a housing. The housing is connected to the fiber transport passage. The opening of the fiber transport passage extends close to a cylindrical surface of the friction spinning drum. The fibers leaving the opening are transported on the friction spinning drum towards a yarn formation position where they are twisted into a yarn which is withdrawn in a selectable withdrawal direction by withdrawal rollers.

    摘要: An open-end friction spinning machine is provided having two adjacently arranged rollers that are drivable in the same rotational direction and form a wedge-shaped gap serving as a yarn formation zone. A fiber feeding device forms a scatter zone in which fibers scattered over a limited area of the axial length of the rollers are fed to the wedge-shaped gap. In the scatter zone, the rollers have sections with surfaces resulting in different frictional effects. Additionally, the sections of the two rollers that are opposite one another have different frictional effects. This difference in frictional effects between oppositely disposed roller sections can be used to create forces which either maintain forming yarn in the wedge-shaped gap during a yarn forming operation, or displace formed yarn from the wedge-shaped gap after a yarn forming operation.

    摘要: A method of and apparatus for frictional open-end spinning which is an improvement upon that disclosed by the co-assigned U.S. Pat. No. 4,168,601. Continuously supplied separated fibers are deposited onto a first, frictional carrying surface provided on a revolving carrier and designed for conveying the fibers to the mouth of a wedge-like gap defined by said frictional carrying surface and a second frictional surface provided on a second revolving carrier moving in said wedge-like gap in the opposite direction relative to the first, frictional carrying surface. The fibers are twisted to yarn in the mouth of the wedge-like gap due to the contact with said frictional surfaces of which one is convex and the other concave. The yarn is withdrawn from said gap in a lateral direction and the twist propagation is prevented. The fibers supplied by the frictional carrying surface into the wedge-like gap are transferred, at least in a yarn preforming region followed by a yarn finishing region, immediately downstream of the mouth of the wedge-like gap, by the action of a first force onto said second frictional surface, from which the fibers after having left the wedge-like gap, are transferred by the action of a second force again onto said frictional carrying surface upstream of the mouth of said wedge-like gap.

The length of the transport path and the width of the fiber veil are determined by defining edges of a suction insert located inside the suction roller. At least one of the defining edges extends at least along a section of the transport path at an acute angle to the circumferential direction. Thus the fiber veil is widened in comparison to the sliver-shaped fed fiber material and/or the fiber tip at the beginning of the yarn formation line is shortened.
