摘要:
A method for monitoring the functional reliability of magnetic valves in pneumatically operated systems of an air jet loom, such as the valves for the relay nozzles, allows the failure of such a valve to be quickly detected and corrected. The characteristic progression curve (2) of the valve actuation current (I) as a function of time (t) is monitored for each magnetic valve to detect and evaluate the occurrence, relative timing, and magnitude of a characteristic feature (3), such as a current dip (3), in the increasing portion (2a) of the current progression curve (2). If the characteristic feature (3) is completely missing, or deviates in time or magnitude outside of a tolerance range relative to corresponding nominal values, then a corresponding fault signal is triggered or the weaving process is interrupted. Alternatively, the time of initiating the actuation signal for the respective valve is shifted to bring the actual operation of the valve back into the acceptable tolerance range.

The filaments in a weft thread or yarn in a pneumatic loom are tangled and consolidated to prevent untangling of the weft thread when it is transported, after the tangling, through the weft insertion channel in a loom shed. For this purpose the leading end of the weft thread is temporarily stopped in a weft insertion nozzle pipe by a first air stream the so-called holding air stream (19) with a first pressure (P1) between two weaving cycles following each other for holding the weft thread stretched. At the same time a second air stream (20) having a higher pressure (P2) than the first pressure (P1) and a different flow direction than the first air stream (19) is applied to or along a leading end portion of the weft thread for tangling the filaments and thereby locking or consolidating the filaments in the weft thread. Each weft insertion nozzle pipe has a first port and a second port through which the first and second air streams are introduced into the weft insertion the nozzle pipe. The second port is positioned downstream of the first port and closer to a free exit end (15) of the respective weft insertion nozzle pipe but still spaced from the free exit end.

A one pick weft inserting, a defective weft determination method and method and a one pick weft inserting control system in a jet loom are provided wherein, in restarting the operation of the jet loom, one pick of weft is inserted and the weft is held securely to permit a smooth start-up of the jet loom. A weft length measuring device and a weft inserting nozzle are operated by a one pick command section provided in the control system to ensure one pick weft inserting into a warp shed, and after completion of the weft inserting operation, the warp shed is closed by a shed closing control section provided in the control system to hold the one pick weft securely, thereby preventing breaking, etc. of the weft.
