摘要： A sewing machine with a work supporting surface convertible into a free arm, comprising a bed provided with a cantilevered arm containing a bobbin hook, a door pivoting on the cantilevered arm to rotate from a closed position to an opened position for access to the hook, and a movable work supporting surface which can be moved to an operatively raised position and an operatively lowered position at which lowered position the free arm is completely accessible. The support work surface comprises a U-shaped element, a plate slidable on suitable guides positioned on the work supporting surface in the front portion of the work supporting surface, a latch connected to the plate and a wall defining a relief and tooth connected to the door to couple with the plate latch to allow the opening and/or closing of the door every time that the plate is urged to take the extreme position of its stroke.

摘要： A sewing machine includes a baseplate with a pedestal thereon having an upstanding column on the pedestal supporting an upper arm carrying the drive for a reciprocating sewing needle. A fabric-supporting arm extends outwardly from the pedestal and overlies one side of the baseplate below the upper arm and carries the thread-engagement mechanism, for example. The baseplate advantageously carries a bearing bushing for pivotally supporting an add-on table so that a pivot belt of the table may be pivoted about a vertical axis which is in substantial alignment with the rear wall of the supporting arm. The add-on table includes a first portion which extends at right angles to a second portion thereof and when the first portion is pivoted alongside the front end of the fabric-supporting arm, the second portion will be disposed along a side face of the supporting arm. The height of the table and the dimensions of the pivot bolt are such that the add-on table provides a surface which forms a continuation of the top surface of the supporting arm.

摘要： An extension table for attachment to a sewing machine head of the portable type for enlarging the somewhat limited working area provided by flat upper surface of the bed in which the bobbin mechanism is housed under the needle and presser foot wherein the table is pivotally mounted on a support structure associated with the machine in such manner as to enable it to be shifted between a vertical position along one side of the machine for storage with the latter within a case, and a horizontal working position co-planar with the upper surface of the bed. The table has an elongated L-shaped configuration and is mounted on the supporting structure in such manner that when in its horizontal working position the short and long sides thereof respectively lie adjacent the end and side walls of the machine bed.

摘要： The sewing machine has a frame formed from a base, a pillar, an upper arm, a head and a free arm, and three panels cooperating with the frame, to form a protective case for the machine on storage. The front face of the head is of a shape substantially corresponding to the free end of the upper face of the free arm. One of the panels has a cut-out area the edges of which surround either the front face of the head in storage position of the machine, or the upper face of the free arm in one of the positions of use of the machine. The panel having the cut-out area then forms with the upper face of the free arm, a widened work surface.

摘要： A sewing machine cabinet for providing single level sewing on a machine having the capability of conversion from a flatbed to a cylinder bed mode is disclosed. The sewing machine fits on a support platform pivotably mounted within the frame of the cabinet. In the operable position of the sewing machine the platform is locked in the horizontal position. The cabinet includes a top which is telescopically received about the frame of the cabinet and includes an aperture through which the entire sewing machine may pass. Means are provided for raising or lowering the top relative to the sewing machine bed. When the top is in the uppermost position it is at the same elevation as the work support surface of the machine so as to provide a flatbed mode of operation of the machine and when the top is positioned in its lowermost elevation the machine may be utilized in the cylinder bed mode. The mechanism disclosed for elevating the top is a crank which is manually turned by means of a operator engageable handle and a pair of levers which are connected to one arm each of a pair of bell crank levers pivotally mounted in the frame. Each of the bell crank levers as disclosed includes a rod movable therewith and connected to each of another pair of bell crank levers on the opposite side of the cabinet. One arm of each of the bell crank levers engages the lower surface of the top.

摘要： A free-arm type sewing machine is provided with a pair of side flaps and an end flap which are pivotally connected to a troughlike member integral with the sewing machine base and spaced from the free lower arm. In their uppermost position the flaps are retained against the head and upper arm of the machine to form an enclosure for the head and sides of the upper arm. The two side flaps are free to slide and pivot in a hinge arrangement so that they can be lowered and their upper angularly bent edges can either be placed adjacent the side edges of the free lower arm to form an enlarged work surface or be pulled away from the arm to expose the latter for the sewing of tubular pieces.
