    摘要: The invention relates to a sleeper (1) for a gravel-mounted structure in railways, which has a cross member (4) extending along a sleeper longitudinal axis (6) and two longitudinal members (5) spaced apart from one another by the cross member (4), and each longitudinal member (5) has a bearing (9) extending on a top face for mounting a rail element (10) above the longitudinal member (5). Each longitudinal member (5) has one or more mounting devices (26) for a rail fixing element (28) each for retaining a rail element (10) on the longitudinal member (5) and at least one of the mounting devices (6) is disposed transversely offset from the sleeper longitudinal axis (6) on at least one of the two longitudinal members (5). The invention further relates to a sleeper (1) of this type which is of a stepped or recessed design at the ends of the longitudinal members (5) , to enable connecting elements (56) to be fitted in these regions in order to secure two rail elements (10) lying end to end.

    摘要: Elastomeric pads are shown for positioning on top of railroad ties. Pre-cast concrete panels that are commonly provided at railway grade crossings between and alongside the rails rest on the pads. The pads may be extruded from a variety of natural or synthetic elastomeric materials. The pads include a panel or body formed of the elastomeric material with an exterior surface. A synthetic, polymeric coating is applied to at least selected portions of the exterior surface of the elastomeric body. The coating provides improved properties which allow more standard elastomers to be utilized for the main body of the component. The coatings can also be applied to railroad tie boots to provide increased ozone resistance.

    摘要: A concrete railroad tie has rail seats defined by plates, which are made from stainless steel or other non-corrodable metal or plastic, cast into the top surface of the tie at the rail seats. The stiffness of the plates should be less than that of the concrete body of the tie and they should have smooth top faces so that they do not cause scuffing of associated rail pads on which the rails rest at the seats. Each plate may have lugs projecting from its underside for providing a mechanical connection with the body of the tie.

    摘要: A concrete sleeper for track systems incorporating electrical circuitry, in which sleeper electrically conducting cables are embedded, and therefore concealed therein, with an assembly to allow electrical connection between the cables and associated tracks and associated track side circuitry. In order to obtain connection to the track side circuitry a recess is provided in one end of the sleeper and receives a terminal box having contacts for contacting exposed ends of the embedded cables and connections within the terminal box are in turn connected to the track side circuitry. In order to achieve an electrical connection with the tracks the cables are connected, within the sleeper, to embedded parts of shoulders of rail fastening assemblies of the type marketed under the name PANDROL.

    摘要: The composite railway tie has performances which are substantially improved over those of ties of the prior art while it results in a saving in weight of metal necessary and in the cost of manufacture.The reinforcement of this tie comprises a lower assembly and an upper assembly each formed by a folded steel wire defining parallel lengths of wire connected by curved portions. The reinforcement also comprises an S-section tie member including a web which is substantially vertical and contained in the vertical plane of symmetry of the tie and two flanges which are roughly horizontal. This tie member may be manufactured on a press or by cold folding relatively cheap flat steel products.
