Abstract:
The invention relates to pavement material for traffic areas which consists of artificial stone material. Said pavement material is characterized by the following features: (a) first pavement elements are provided which have a single first shape or several different shapes; (b) second pavement elements of a single second shape or several different second shapes are provided in individual areas of the pavement material; (c) third pavement elements are provided which have a single third shape or several different third shapes; (d) the second pavement elements are at least mainly enclosed by several third pavement elements in such a manner that a transitional zone is formed to the subsequent pavement area of the first pavement elements; (e) the second shape or the second shapes is (are) different from the first shape or the first shapes, and the third shape or third shapes is (are) different both from the first shape or first shapes and the second shape or second shapes.
Abstract:
This invention relates to signs and cartography, and provides a sign which makes it easier for tourists to find their way around a town or city. In particular the invention provides a navigation sign (1) having a plurality of components. The components are suitable for incorporation into a paving system. The components include an indicator component (2) having a directional indicator, and a receiving section (4, 5, 6, 7). The receiving section is shaped to receive the indicator component (2) and permits relative rotation of the indicator component. The indicator component may be rotated to indicate a particular direction and then fixed in place.
Abstract:
A method and system for guiding a road construction machine using a machine guidance system comprising at least one each of a machine position sensor, a laser-based sensor, and a processing unit. The machine position sensor first measures a position of a road construction machine relative to a road boundary condition. The laser-based sensor then captures a series of scans corresponding to the boundary condition. The processing unit, using the scans, determines an ideal path of travel for the road construction machine. Based on the ideal travel path, the machine guidance system provides instructions to align the current travel path of the road construction machine to the ideal travel path.
Abstract:
Command instruction data can be generated via a computerized control system, with the instruction data being formatted to prompt a plurality of tile units to change their output. The instruction data can be sent from the control system to the tile units, with each of the tile units including a tile controller connected to one or more tiles embedded in one or more sidewalk floors, and with each of the tiles including a user interface output device. At least part of the instruction data from the control system can be received via a tile controller of a tile unit. At least part of the instruction data can be processed via the tile controller. In response, the user interface output device of the tile can be signaled via the tile controller to change the output of the output device.
Abstract:
Ornamental interlocking inserts are provided, for use with existing structures of interlocking stones, bricks, tiles or the like, or with new structures being built, and a process of providing the inserts is disclosed. The inserts may have a graphic or alphanumeric design, and may be provided with colored portions, to result in a pleasing visual effect.

Abstract:
The invention relates to pavement material for traffic areas which consists of artificial stone material. Said pavement material is characterized in that it comprises normal pavement elements and symbol-carrying pavement elements. It is furthermore characterized in that when a spatially coherent group of symbol pavement elements is viewed the symbol pavement elements of said group are arranged so as to have the same direction.
