摘要: Disclosed is a friction damper that has a unique load-displacement hysteresis characteristic such that, when the frictional coefficient between members that generate friction is smaller than the slope of an inclined surface, the friction damper is always returned to the original position thereof in a case where an external force is removed or remains at a level that does not exceed a threshold value. The V-groove friction damper includes: a V-groove member including a concave V-shaped groove; a V-shaped frictional contact member including a V-shaped frictional contact portion; a guide member configured to guide a left/right movement of the V-groove member; and an elastic compression unit installed on the guide member, and configured to elastically compress the V-shaped frictional contact member toward the V-groove member.

摘要: A shock suppressor has a first base, a second base, a sliding tray and a slider. The first base has a first guiding recess. The second base is mounted above the first base at an interval and has a second guiding recess facing the first guiding recess of the first base. The sliding tray is slidably mounted in the first guiding recess of the first base and has a sliding recess and a convex surface slidably mounted on and abutting against the first base in the first guiding recess. The slider is slidably mounted between the sliding recess of the sliding tray and the second guiding recess of the second base and has two convex faces. The abutments between the first base, the sliding tray, the slider and the second base can provide three concave sliding mechanisms to the shock suppressor.

摘要: Disclosed is a magnetically controlled base isolation system that in a simple, practical, and cost effective way significantly reduces the lateral forces transmitted to buildings, bridges, and other structures during earthquakes. It comprises sliding bearings that are constructed with steel elements, elastomeric O-rings, and permanent magnets; contain a pressurized fluid; and slide over electricity-conducting metallic base plates. It also comprises permanent magnets disposed at the periphery of the metallic base plates. The pressurized fluid carries the bulk of the vertical load supported by each bearing, minimizing thus the magnitude of the frictional forces that resist the bearings' sliding. The motion of the permanent magnets in the sliding bearings over the electricity-conducting base plates generates damping forces that reduce the bearings' relative displacements to practical levels. The peripheral permanent magnets induce re-centering forces on the bearings and forces that prevent the traveling of the bearings beyond the base plates' boundaries.

摘要: An improvement in the structure of an anti-shock device utilized for buildings, important structures and bridge structures that are made of a base, a carrier, a slide block, and a plurality of springs. A slip concavity of a sunken round curved recess is respectively formed in the base top surface and in the carrier bottom surface, and an upper slide block member and a lower slide block member are situated between the two slip concavities. One contact surface between the two slide block members and slip concavities is of a curved contour and the other surfaces are indented seating recesses. A spheroid coupling bearing is nested between the two seating recesses and the upper and lower slide block members are held together by the springs. As so assembled, the anti-shock device base is fastened under the columns of a building structure such that the building achieves the objectives of exceptional shock eliminating capability and greater building structure safety.
